Here's your first look at the next Need For Speed

EA has released the first shot of this year's Need For Speed ahead of its full reveal tomorrow.

Yeah, the customization and such in that game was great for the time. Bringing all that and expanding it for next-gen would be awesome.

what matters is, does the game have the same soul as the old ones. NFS from PS2 days were so much fun. all the PS3 NFSes were so bland. i felt it was missing the soul... i fondly remember the NFS Most Wanted. i still remember running away from the cops. the roads. the highway. the golf course. the overhead bridges. i remember nothing from the last gen's NFSes.

The NFS developers have been heavily against customization in the last NFS games, so I can't help but get the feeling they'll simply be using the Underground name and setting, but not actually delivering the game that people want at all.

It would be nice to be wrong of course, but I don't think it's worth getting excited about. Besides, the last game these guys put out was Need For Speed Rivals which was pretty bad. Before that, a lot of these developers worked on the awful Need For Speed Most Wanted reboot.

I believe that this is actually NFSU3 after years of asking for it... but deep within I also believe that EA will mess up this sequel so bad that I never wanna play NFS again. Pretty much the same that happened with the Most Wanted reboot a few years ago.

NFSU 3 done right would be perfect!

I would love to add a stage 3 turbo/ecu etc on a LaFerrari and shred some tarmac!

This time they should let us see HP, Torque, Downforce, lateral G figures etc and how they are affected with each upgrade.

And, each upgrade should be done in real time (like The Crew), where you can watch all parts been disassembled and assembled realistically. GOD that's what I call car P**N !!

Then again, a next gen Burnout Paradise wouldn't be bad either!

Hopefully High stake 2 will be next, offline 2 player mode game. if EA going back to it's roots , then take the series back to 2 player mode . online open world was a good concept but as we see bad ideal . "alldrive-autolog"

I'll hold my excitement until thats confirmed to not be CGI or a cut scene. Plus we need a proper story driven NFS like Most Wanted (The first one) please EA. Right now NFS is gonna struggle to compete with DriveClub and FH2 so go with your strengths and thats either another Underground or proper most wanted.

Need for Speed has been playing the shell shuffle game so much that EA has basically killed it. Once upon a time four out of 5 Need For Speed games were good. Now it is about 1 and a half times out of 5 releases.

There are many series that got cancelled indefinitely that I wish never had or were just rereleased or someone else got the rights to them that maybe it would save the series.

Need for Speed has NEVER been one of the series. They have shit the bed with this series how many times? Once? Twice? Seven? I lost count at Seven.

Just put this out to pasture like the Old Yeller videogame equivalent it has been every other year.

Need for Speed has experienced a real life half life. Every other or sometimes every other other year a Need for Speed releases and it is great. Every other time I just feel sorry for them.

Forget Need for Speed go back to Burnout damnit.

I think its more to do with the fact that they keep changing what the game is, it went from pure arcade racing on tracks to more open world type settings,back to tracks and then back to open world again, same with the customization, it went from none to loads to none again, they never kept it cohesive, i think underground 2 was the best overall in the series and this new one seems to be heading in that direction, although not all of them have been great they have never been truely bad either, i just hope they hit the nail on the head with this one.
