The game looks amazing, PC gamers are in for a treat thats for sure.

Again this will scale over time. I wouldnt be surprised if in 1-2 years more and more people start getting 4k monitors.

Games probably wont progress much in terms of graphics because of console limitations. Hence for PC gamers the way forward will be 4k gaming. I think 1-2 years from now we should easily have mid range hardware that can run 4k easy. Which will be a bonus for PC gamers later on in the generation as they can come back to play games like Witcher 3 in 4k.

I've been saying for a long time that people were mistakingly comparing cutscenes with raw gameplay. When you actually compare like-for-like (cutscene vs cutscene, gameplay vs gameplay) the newer footage actually looks better than the older footage/trailers.

Console gamers do not despair i am sure a remake running at ultra settings 1080p 60fps will be made available at the starting of another gen (PS5, XB2).

Hell i wouldnt be surprised if you get a remake again by the time PS6/XB3 is released so you can finally enjoy the game in 4k.

The more i watch that trailer i think this is actually the XBO version. I can see the PC version being a lot sharper and detailed than this on ultra.

I think the differences in the screenshots are from being the latest build of the game and at a different time of day.

Just look at the differences in the cliff shape and mountains that are no longer in the background. And being able to see the village behind the cliff.

Also im pretty sure they said they aren't going to show off ultra settings to keep it a surprise for gamers.

I have 2 ps4 controllers but my ps3 is hardwired in so I don't have to worry about battery life. I haven't looked into hooking up the ps4 controllers to my pc yet. Are there drivers to get the touch screen working?

Actually, I think your 770 will play this kind of quality at 30fps solid at least.

The reason I say this is that it's known that a 980 is required for Ultra, at 60fps on 1080p (some things like Ubersampling not withstanding). This isn't Ultra unless CDPR have gone back on their word.

What was their word? That Ultra wouldn't be released to the public before launch day.

So, this must be high settings, which we know are playable, according to the forums, on a 770 at 1080p at somewhere between 30-60fps.

In other words...you should be good to go! :)

Yes, PC will look better, but consoles will be gorgeous, and this game is all about dtory, combat, and a huge beautiful world with plenty to do.

If anyone is interested when you buy a GTX 970/980 series Nvidia card, Witcher III is included. So if you want this game and are in need of a video card upgrade now would be a good time. Buying 3 for PS4.

Having a PC doesn't mean we all have BEAST PCs, I have a HD 5770 and it would take me a few upgrades to even be able to play Witcher 3, thus I'd rather just play it on PS4.

Mind you, when you factor in Sony and MS, both companies produce high end exclusive's that likely won't ever appear on PC (especially Sony's exclusives).

In fact....as of right now, Star Citizen might be the only high end PC exclusive...(for now).

As someone who owns both, I'm sorry but what you see coming out for PS4 and XONE by MS and (again, especially Sony) are games that will likely never see the light of day on a PC.

From Killzone SF, InFamous Second Son and First Light, BloodBorne etc I've had a very, very good time playing next gen titles, I legit can't say the same on the level of PC titles thus far in terms of engines produced exclusively for titles on PC...

As of right now, I'd rather just play on PS4 and upgrade next year to play Star Citizen...mind you, I don't really even need to do that, I want to...

My HD 5770 has no issue playing that title as I've seen many using that card currently playing it.

The reality is....we'll see more AAA next gen titles only on consoles vs next gen AAA level titles ONLY on PC...

That is just not really likely in terms of how PC gaming actually goes in terms of releases. The money is on console, to get a high end PC title, it must be crowd funded or that publisher is nuts.

Mind you...I again own a gaming PC and still plan to build, but I disagree with the notion of "few console games"

Can we even name a PC exclusive that even requires more power then a PS4 or XONE?

In February PC had 8 and PS4 had 2. Last month it was pretty even. I don't get how you guys can say PC does not have good exclusives.

I thought it was an awful trailer. Sure the visuals look good, but the woman narrating it (AI vocals?) talking about monsters this monsters that and in the next phrase it's all about realism this and that. I sure don't mind the nudity and all the gore, but it's just the way WRPGs tell their stories makes them fall flat. It's always so monotonous and simple, but yet somehow sounds like the super bowl is about to start...lol

Plus, the alchemy system is a little bit strange to me. I'd rather craft and assemble weapons and armor etc. Also, I don't like the parameter DPS.

Sorry for the rant! I'm just not really excited to play this. I'm trying to be, tho! :D

Hmm...that looks like it could be time of day/lighting changing how things look more than platform differences.

Then again, so much of the foliage and landscape is different as well, which doesn't even seem like a performance thing. Yet the trees are in the same place.

The geometry of that cliff is definitely improved. Look at the edges too. Its not just a difference in time of day. The textures on the ground are better as well, and they've added roots or vines hanging down off the cliffside. They've also changed the geometry so that you can see the city in the background.

I don't know about you guys, but I would happily purchase multiple copies of this game for no reason other than to show my support to CD Projekt RED, and because I have 100% unwavering confidence in their abilities to deliver one of the most robust, ground-breaking RPG experiences ever. I will be getting married four days after this releases, and believe me, the thought has actually crossed my mind multiple times that I might have to miss my own wedding for this experience... haha - this would never happen, of course. I am excited for this game, it's going to be a great game for all three platforms (no offense wii u) lol. But after playing the witcher 2 which was a good game but not great keeps me from getting too hyped. One thing I hope they improve apon from the witcher 2 is more balance through the whole game, the witcher 2 was challenging and fun at the beginning and towards the middle of the game but once you got to the final act the game became way to easy in my opinion, the final boss (the king slayer) was a bit of a joke, you just hit, roll away, hit, roll away quite disappointing. I believe the developers will improve from the witcher 2 and make the witcher 3 a true sequel with potential to be the best RPG since skyrim, we will just have to see.

I'm not sure WTF this article is talking about. Everything he referenced are PC materials. This entire scheme remind me a lot of the Dying Light and Dragon Age: Inquis trailer and press campaign. Everything from the official trailers to lets plays were all from the PCs and we're told that the PS4 would be similar or close.

Because of that I went ahead and bought the PS4 version only to find out that the difference between the PC and PS4 is freaking huge.

Don't know about Dying Light but the difference between Dragon Age in 2K 60 FPS and the PS4 @ 1080p 30 FPS is rather noticeable. I completed this game on both platforms and the PS4 version while still fun, took a beating in terms of texture quality and draw distance. Not sure how you can expect a console with laptop specs to measure up really.

My issue with the Witcher 3 is that I have too long to wait before I can play it. Dragon Age stole about 200 hours of my life across I expect this one to take away at least that much as well if not more. May 19th can't get here soon enough.
