I think some "leaks" are intentional, to spark interest almost used for marketing purposes. I wouldn't think it would hurt their sales but it depends what's been leaked.

Heisenburger3561d ago

See: The yearly Call of Duty leaks, and the annual Assassin's Creed leak. Which all coincidentally happen just before they were to be revealed.

Every year.

mrpsychoticstalker3561d ago

Is not considered a leak if the game came out barely 10 months ago.

RuleNumber53561d ago

Not a fan of them. Only industry I know of that has this many leaks about this many cool things. I think they can spoil surprises for people and cheapen the joy of watching the pressers at E3, Gamescom, etc. I just ignore leaks anyway. You do have a choice people.

Edgetroll3561d ago

very good point. It reminds of this years E3 when a lot of the trailers and lineup were leaked a few days before. It took away a lot of the excitement of the actual presentation.

RuleNumber53561d ago

Yeah, I mean IF The Last Guardian ever gets revealed, I don't want to know when, at all. I want to be totally blind-sided and experience the pure joy of that surprise. The devs deserve that reaction and so do the companies that have invested in the development of the game.

People who leak news are just trying to make a name for themselves. It's the wrong way to go about doing that. Make a name for yourself through hard, honest work. One of the reasons why I respect ANY project Chris Nolan works on. That guy keeps every tight-lipped. Keeps the wonder of what could be alive. That's lost nowadays.

spoilers or leaks are sometimes hard to avoid.

they are selling mgs5 toys and one of them is a volgin on fire. does that count as a spoiler? i know we saw him in the trailer, but not that there is a toy does that mean he plays a bigger role?

DiscoKid3561d ago

As far as surprise factors, I personally loathe them. It makes Smash 4 reveals less hyping.

KingPin3561d ago

some leaks are good, when you get to see character design or set design or something like that.

some leaks are awful when they leak that a pre-alpha is running at 720p 30fps and the fanboys/girls go into a spiral of rants and insults as if thats the final settings and wont be optimized later.

so it just depends on the context of the leak. if there are no big spoilers, its all cool.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.

When copying text from the source article make sure you read over the text and edit it if necessary. A good example is when a site writes "We" or "I" , as this should then be replaced with the site's or person's name, or you can quote the source.
