GR-UK writes: Crytek has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late, and when that's the case it's easy to forget that the studio is capable of making fantastic first-person shooters.
The next game in that genre that's in development at the studio is Homefront: The Revoltion, and we caught up with Fasahat Salim at E3 to find out more about the game, what it's all about, and what sets it apart from both its predecessor and other similar games.
MP1st talks to Crytek about Hunt: Showdown's success, future title updates, inspiration behind weapons and more.
Crytek gives an update on their new Crysis game, confirming that it's still in development, with more to share down the road.
That's awesome. So how long till the studio closes and everyone gets fired?
Immersed Gamer writes: "Frans Bouma just received a Cease and Desist letter from Crytek, developers of Crysis. Did he pirate their game? Or maybe he infringed on their copyright? What horrible thing did Bouma do to deserve this? Well, he modded in a photo mode so that people could take beautiful pictures and share them on social media."
"from his Patreon page" Uhhhh yeah.......Oh gee and I wonder why that was problem? You know where this goes there Filip or perhaps you are just not quite yet.
Rarely do you see something with so much potential (Crytek) shoot themselves in the foot so many times.
Instead of sending a C&D Crytek should thank him, for this, because this will lead to more people buying and playing the game.
Just like your studios then.
I liked the first Homefront, and I hope this game comes out sweet. The campain was too short but the multiplayer was awesome even though it didn't work.
I think the first Homefront was kind of average (Not every game can be a masterpiece) but I think making this one a Single player only game is a move in the right direction.
It feels as though every shooter is all about the multiplayer these days. Plus I'm hoping North Korea will respond or put it in one of their propaganda videos so I can have a chuckle.
The first HomeFront was complete garbage..rushed out bad physics and horrible collision detection. But the title is misleading if your think about the bad news about crytek lately. I took the title to mean that the devs have no control of how the game is being made.
Hopefully they fix the issues with the last game and put out a polished product.
here is the quote:
we don't actually have control over what is happening minute to minute on the street. The civilian population will do whatever they're doing, that's a living breathing world. We have no control over what is actually unfolding as that mission is taking place. So that's an interesting dynamic because it can change an experience for a player. So your experience of a mission could be completely different to my experience of a mission."
