There have been lot of hints about glass and wire-based powers in inFAMOUS: Second Son. They were hinted at in the augmented reality websites created for the inFAMOUS: Paper Trail and today we learn that they actually made the concept phase.

Glass looked awesome. Rather, what they did with it.

Lunarassassin3659d ago

I don't know, wire looks awesome but a lot of the glass pictures are like remodeled versions of the concrete powers. If either will be DLC then it will probably be wire.

TitanUp3659d ago

potential spoiler for dlc?

XtraTrstrL3659d ago

Yeah, that'd be cool as new free DLC.

I still have to do part 2+ of Paper Trail.

Sevir3659d ago

The paper trail stuff is awesome. It's been pretty good, I'm awaiting part 5's mission.

leemo193659d ago

Glass or steel would of been better than concrete. Concrete was let down its a strong power, but there's nothing really interesting to do with it.

GarrusVakarian3659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

Spoilers dude, just say '4th power' instead.

leemo193659d ago

Not really spoiler when you start the game its pretty obvious you get that power. It's not like I said the other powers.

MidnytRain3659d ago

Thanks to leemo19 I'm not buying SS or the PS4. Literally no point now.

GarrusVakarian3659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

Wow....all you had to do was edit your post and have a little thought for people have yet to play the game. Was that really so hard?

It being "obvious" is completely subjective. Some people might not find it obvious, and thus, you just spoiled it for them.

leemo193659d ago

Why the game is almost been out for a month, by now I'm sure a lot of people already read it or saw it on youtube what powers you get.

If someone can't figure out what power you get at the end, than obviously their not paying attention.

Shadonic3659d ago

yea just keep it to fourth power, I also agree on what you said.

ThatOneGuyThere3659d ago

you're a d1ck. I'm planning on picking this up when i get off of work. aaaaaand now i know how it ends.

leemo193659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

You know what power you get, never said anything about how the story ends.

For everyone else I find it hilarious that people hate me for stating one of the powers you get but not criticizing the article which actual states you get the concrete power, with no spoiler in description till pretty much the end after you done reading it.

zeuanimals3659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

Glass and Steel would be way too plentiful, though. All of the powers had distinct, limited sources and you had to actively go and find them. Glass and Steel is everywhere in a big city. Having them would also mean that all buildings and windows have to be destructible or something since you have to drain the glass and steel. It would look really weird if glass or steel could be drained but it doesn't disappear and it would be equally weird if it does disappear but you can't enter the parts that have opened up as a result. It's both way too resource heavy and sort of game breaking since you'd be taking materials that take a long time to rebuild/replace.

Wire could work since you have to find chain-link fences and stuff like that, but the powers' resources are replenished in a few short minutes. It would be weird if they replaced a chain-link fence within minutes.

lsujester3659d ago

The 4th power is very plentiful if you think about it, but they limited how you could obtain it.

DragonKnight3659d ago

Chain link fences are OP. I'm sorry but they are, they need nerfing.

When you get the 4th power, you can charge through pretty much everything except for what you'd expect you can't charge through (i.e. buildings and sheer concrete walls) but just trying it on a simple chain link fence and you stop dead in your tracks.

Chain link OP, please nerf. Lol.

ObiWanaTokie3659d ago

not for people with a ps4 but for future adopters, they dont want to read your shit

cmon man, you screwin the flow of the world

Does anyone think this game was.....you know.....rushed a little.

I mean the "4th" power feels very under developed and the story is a little short. Most of them are basically missions to upgrade your powers with the basic move sets again and again

I really think with more time these powers would of been in the game.

I would say keep it for the next game but I want a new character after Delsin. They've wrote themselves into a corner with Delsins power swapping ability.

Best thing they can do is go with the Evil ending, since Coles cannon endings were good. Do something different for a change. I mean with the two endings the story can easily go places if SP go with the evil ending where <SPOILERS>.............. ............Delsin becomes a wreckless, power hungry conduit consumed by his new powers. It would show the difference between Cole, the man who didn't let the powers go to his head and used them for good and Delsin the man who became power hungry.

Shadonic3659d ago

Please no the entire evil part of second son was so horribly thought out. I mean really it felt like a very badly written villain. Infamous can do better than that, They need to higher another writer or something. I agree on the 4th power, anyone who disagrees on it being under developed must be in some extreme fanboy state.

Delsin_Rowe3659d ago

It's shorter than previous games but it still was a beautiful and awesome game, with a cool character. I don't really want another character yet, I want More Delsin Rowe story plus I will be bad going back with one power instead of having 4 four. I rather they created a new infamous game for Vita with another new character or evil cole eding sequel.

-Foxtrot3659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

I think having one/two powers with a lot of different variation in attacks is better then 4 powers which have the same boring move set.

As I've said most of the missions consisted of finding core relays to get a new attack when really he should already know them since they are almost the same, the only different one is the special attack.

Where was the grenade move, the Polarity Wall, Lightning Tether, Kinetic Pulse etc

More powers should be yours to find by your self, not using them as an excuse for the story.

Delsin's story is done, with the good ending there is nothing else he can do. It's a closed chapter.

It's not like inFAMOUS where Cole had to prepare for the Beast thus giving him a sequel. It's why the evil ending, despite the gameplay/evil story being horrible is the only way they can go next.

Humanity has a new "beast" and that is Delsin, the next game should feature a hero which will rise up to stop him

Maybe Cole could come back who knows to face off against Delsin

DragonKnight3659d ago (Edited 3659d ago )

Cole was just all around better. His story was better written, his personality was less of a cliche, and his powers were phenomenally better even in Infamous 1. He may have only had electricity, but it was just so varied.

Anyone remember how in Infamous 1 and 2 you could perform stunts and there was even a trophy for doing them all? Gliding along a powerline and trying to land a sticky grenade on someone, or jumping off and trying to land a sniper shot in.

Those kinds of things made Infamous 1 feel like a more complete game. Infamous 2 added UGC and 2 more power branches which were very unique and different from Cole's original Electrical ability.

The RPG aspects of gaining experience to unlock new abilities in Infamous 1, or performing specific stunts to unlock them in Infamous 2 added to the depth of the gameplay.

The more I talk about the other 2 Infamous games, the more I see that SS, while an amazing game in its own right (best frickin' soundtrack of the series for sure), was not nearly the same complete experience as the first two Infamous games.

100%, locked 60fps and still look great all these years later, same with the expansion, definitely worth a look if people haven't played it yet, not the best games ever made but a good experience, hopefully a new infamous gets released

KwietStorm_BLM101d ago

Never was my favorite infamous, but it was definitely a graphics showcase early on PS4. Still plays well with the unlocked frame rate.

SDuck101d ago

Still remember getting hyped about this game nearing release. Funny because I never even got a PS4. Jumped from PS3 to PC so I never played it ahahaha

OmegaSoldati101d ago

Its a good game. But thats it. Congratulations you made the best choice. I dream to have a great PC one day.

Profchaos101d ago (Edited 101d ago )

Graphically It's a absolutely stunning game that still holds up today.

Didn't have all that much depth to it forcing you to play though twice for a platinum trophy a good and bad run it was a little disappointing how similar those were Delsin would be like I'm not doing that for you in a cutscene but the cutscene would play out and force you to do it anyway just as you would of in a good run

I did like the story however it got a lot of complaints back in the day people hated playing as Delsin instead of cole despite Coles story being wrapped up.

Overall though the map wasn't overly saturated with useless points of interest there was some collectibles and things to find but nothing compared to a Ubisoft game.

I think it was a good game if a little hollow I've played it through around 4 times now since it's so short.

Also it's DLC was great a full story expansion

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88133d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183132d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie131d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.
