There are so many franchises that need to be revived, but there is one that stands above the rest:
1. Shenmue- The story needs to be finshed
SONY could lose by one way alone, and that is by not showing any exclusive games. I'm not talking about first party either, they need some third party exclusives. Of course the likelihood of the latter happening is slim to none. However, my statement remains true...if SONY doesn't show games we've never heard of or seen before, their E3 automatically fails. I mean, that is the whole point of E3 to unveil games, not show gamers what they've already seen.
I've actually played this, and I have to admit it is an amazing game for the PSP. The structure/story of the game is well put together, it would've been a great game for the PS3.
This is well said, someone else who recognizes the flaw of FF XV being a JARPG. The combat in the game looks terrible, and I can guarantee it's the reason it's not being shown at E3. There aren't many gamers who can observe these things, and noted such things makes you a rare gamer.
On the issue of Square Enix turning things around this gen, highly unlikely. They still seem to be caught up in XIII, which means they don't comprehend that it's not the type o...
No, it's not a good thing...it means something is internally wrong with SE. This is the game that is suppose to set a new precedent for the FF franchise, and return it to it's roots. I can say right now (after watching the footage from last years E3), that the games combat system is horrible. If this combat system is in the final product, the FF series is done.
This is the future...you're looking at an all digital (or digital only) outlet. Backwards compatibility is non-existent now, mainly because they can make more money reselling you the game, as opposed to you just loading up your physical copy on their newer console. It would be nice to have it return, but it's not going to happen, just keep your previous gen consoles.
It's as they say nothing last forever, and in this case I'd say you're leaving at the right time. The future of gaming is looking bleak, there are too many changes happening at once. The entire game industry wants to become a digital only outlet. DLC is still being promoted as "add on" content, when at this point we know it's already in the game. So like you, I will be bowing out of the future gaming landscape. It's as I said some time ago, the 8th gen is the las...
This is more of a wishlist than "mind blowing ps4 excluisve announcements". A reboot of Syphon Filter, really? the weak competitor for MGS. I suppose anythings possible though nowadays, if enough people support it.
The likelihood (i.e. guaranteed) that all of these predictions (aside from Project Morpheus) will come to fruition at E3 are slim to none. The Last Guardian (if shown) is most likely a PS4 game now, which is good for PS4 owners, but it was promised for PS3. Quantic Dreams could have a game to reveal, most likely a trailer. If they had actual gameplay footage, I'd be highly impressed. Everything else on the list is up in the air.
SONY outselling Xbox is irrelevant, it has no bearing on PS4's user base. In order for SONY to prevail at E3, they have to show some exclusive 3rd party developer games, and stop throwing indie games at user base looking to play full fledged games.
It would be pointless to continue such a venture, the Playstation brand no longer has the exclusive characters necessary to facilitate a game like this. That coupled with the fact that the developers blatantly copied Super Smash Bros combat mechanics, makes this a definite no...no. Unless they redo the combat mechanics (come up with their own),and produce a character roster that reflects their history, they should leave this be.
*Note: When I refer to 'character roster th...
Like many who've already posted, SEGA not announcing a PSO2 NA localization is asinine. I believe it may be the most requested thing of their company, aside from Yakuza 5.
The truth is, this is irrelevant...SONY needs games for PS4. It's apparent that current PS4 owners are dissatisfied with it's projected (i.e. future) game library, which is that of indie titles.
To put it simply, they need exclusive game reveals from 3rd party developers/publishers. It is 3rd party exclusive games that gave PS and PS2 the power it possessed in the fifth and sixth generation.
SONY inviting gamers out to movie theaters to view their conference, must mean they have something (or a few things) very big to show. I mean, if those gamers who went out to see SONY's E3 conference didn't see anything mind blowing, I'm certain they would be irate, even though the tickets were free. It still took time, gas, effort, etc...to get to said event.
The ESRB has to be one of the most useless organizations in gaming. It's evident that any SMT (mainly those games of the main series) will have a rating of M. Besides, this game has already came out, and it had a rating of M. The ESRB should only be rating new IP's, not re-rating games that have already been rated. Digital Devil Saga 2's rating of M isn't going to change, it still has blood and mature themes in it.
SONY is never going to supersede the debut of the original PS, it was the turning point for gaming as we know it. Playstation revolutionized game genres, and was the console that the majority of developers sought out in the 5th generation, which lead to some of Playstation's best exclusive games.
The concept of free-to-play on consoles is good, but transactions in order to play through said game, result in a pay to win model. Those overseeing these types of games need to understand the difference. If your game is free-to-play, then you should not hinder the game by putting limitations on a player's progress through your game, by monetary means. Your money should be acquired by offering aesthetic options for your players to personalize their avatar, or in this case their plane.
I believe this version is the one that has HUNK as a playable character.
The concept behind Unlimted World Red is good, but instead of being action oriented, it should've been turn based like Romance Dawn. The Pirate Warriors series already does what this game is trying to do, combat mechanics wise.
