Looks like the NA version doesn't come with it, but EU does. That's kinda silly. Makes sense when you look at the price though because it's 199 and the Monster Hunter edition with game is 229.

Nintendo Direct announced on their twitter for the 14th.

FWIW, I came across someone claiming their local Target restocked Marth, with pictures to back it up.

Also, I personally stopped by my local Target today and the woman I spoke with said she had just restocked earlier this morning, and they had one Villager to put up that had already sold before I got there.

You're right, I wouldn't trust your imaginary store telling me the status of amiibos one way or the other. Your being disingenuous by focusing on that particular Canadian retailer's story. Most people are smart enough to be skeptical about what a single retailer says, and you're ignoring the statements that have come out since then.

There are now multiple sources on both sides. I understand your argument that we should disregard everything but the response fro...

Sigh... We went through this on a previous article. Here are two large gaming publications both stating they have spoken directly with Nintendo.

There is now a GameSpot article stating that less popular characters will be discontinued after their initial run. The article does not source Wired, instead saying Nintendo spoke directly with GameSpot.

Unfortunately the info in this article is actually from yesterday. As far as I can tell, it was originally a tweet from Mushroom Kingdom Gaming League. The wired article came out today, so it at least seems to be newer information. I am hopeful none will be discontinued, but it doesn't look good so far.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't be so quick to say it's idiots spreading rumors. http://www.wired.com/2014/1...

Who do you believe? They both claim to have come from Nintendo. I think it is telling though that Amazon is no longer even directly selling WFT, Marth, and Villager. Not out of stock, not pre-order, but completely gone, with only third-party sellers. That doesn't seem to bo...

Wow, crazy. Just read that Toys R Us has stopped taking Lucario pre-orders, so I pre-ordered Shulk and Meta Knight an hour ago. This is getting ridiculous.

Currently, anything Nintendo-owned that gets flagged by Youtube's content ID system loses all ad revenue. Most of you posting about how bad this idea is don't seem to realize that the average Youtube LP'er earns zero ad revenue from a flagged Nintendo video at the moment. This new affiliate program at least allows for a cut.

If you want to hate on something, hate on the content ID system.

I work in IT and tech support. My company uses Dell and I rarely see a machine replaced due to failure. On the customer tech support side of things, the majority of hardware issues I see happen on low cost HP laptops.

Jack is stepping down and Kevin Butler will be taking his place, April 1st.

On a more serious note, this is incredibly sad. It was so much fun to watch e3 presentations because of him. It felt like he was right there along with the rest of us, getting just as excited for every new announcement. Just a genuine guy.

I hear ya. I've been pulling out my older consoles a lot more lately. Other than Mass Effect there haven't been many games in the last 2-3 years I've really enjoyed enough to play again. It's actually kind of sad. Many of the AAA big money titles have loads of polish... and that's pretty much it.

Ha, it's all good. I'm just looking for some good discussion. If you've got a lot to say, that's cool.

I agree with you about this gen being pretty interesting. On the surface there isn't much separating the two consoles, so everyone will be looking that much closer at the little differences. As much as I wish we all wouldn't nitpick over numbers, there's a whole lot of it coming in the next few years.

An interesting idea, but history shows it won't have much of an impact. The N64 and Saturn tried it with expandable ram, but I don't think I would consider those successful attempts.

I don't know much about the Saturn upgrade, but it only had a small amount of games that made use of the ram, something like 25-30 games. The N64 had a handful of great titles that needed the expanded ram, and it sold well because of it, but the total number of games that took advanta...

I completely agree with your second comment. 20 years ago it was a great (but cheesy) marketing tool for the console manufacturers to throw out stuff like 16 bit vs 8 bit with the Super Nintendo, or talk about the era of 3D with the Playstation and Nintendo 64. Although now with the step up to HD I think people expected to keep seeing that kind of gen-after-gen increase, only with resolution numbers now, even though that was never how that marketing was used.

Look at it this ...

Please read my post again. You clearly misinterpreted my stance on this topic.

To clarify a little more on what a few have said about internal scaling. It means on last-gen consoles, the game will be rendered somewhere less than 720p, then just stretched up to 720p. It's the same process with some of the 900p games. If you have your console set to output 1080p when playing a 900p game, it just does a quick stretch up after the processing.

@MAULxx

My point about movies is that I don't see much of a difference. When I watch Lord of the Rings I don't think "crap, that part of the image I'm missing is ruining this movie," and when I play games I don't think "crap, that part of the image I'm missing is killing this game."

Do you play older games that use fullscreen resolutions? I don't wish my retro consoles had more image on the sides of widescreen TV...

Do you purchase movies with that same mentality? Hardly any movies at all use full 16:9. Lord of the rings? 2.35:1. Star Wars? 2.35:1. Pretty much the same as the ratio used for The Order.
