I think Kinect is far worse than the Wiimote. When the second generation of games hit people will understand the limitations and broken promises of a company that buys the will of the ignorant.

Sony and Nintendo both passed on Kinect for it's technical limitations and already you can see why. As a tinkering tool for geeks it's a novel little toy but as for gaming there's very little beyond what the eyetoy has already done that can be achieved.
To give up their core audience for this will be MS's biggest mistake this gen.

Exclusivity is only a problem if you only own one console i.e. the xbox. The article kinda sounds like pre-emptive damage control for that issue next year.
