How do you know Dark Souls 2 is coming out next year? That seems pretty soon.
Awesome. Somebody gave this a lower score than me.
Let's assume that this review is terrible and unfair. It shouldn't get this much attention. It shouldn't be attacked. It should be ignored.
Yes, they are optional, and I had NO desire to do any of them after the first few.
I didn't have this issue with Borderlands 1 and 2, Skyrim, Oblivion, Mass Effect 1,2 and 3, KOTOR 1 and 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3,4 and 5, Titan Quest, Fable 2 and many others.
So, what makes Assassin's Creed III immune to this criticism?
Because it's a game. And I review games. I didn't let my disdain for the series get in the way of my thoughts.
I gave Spec Ops: The Line an 8.4, even though I've NEVER played and probably never will another Spec Ops game.
I review a game based on its own merits, nothing more.
If 1 more person crudely references Call Of Duty without making any reasoned point I'm going to snap my Nintendo DS in two....
Why does he keep saying that the enemies are all guys with masks? What about Rakks, Bullymongs, bandits, robots and every combination they have.
If he has THAT much of a problem with similar enemies then he should have called out Mass Effect 3 which pretty much has about 4 , soldiers and the reaper ground forces. That's it.
The ratings system is all messed up nowadays. I fear that the general consensus in just "I liked it, so 10 out of 10".
I would give the first Darksiders an 8.5, and Darksiders II is worse in every single way. I myself wrote a review on it and gave it 7.1.
Keep in mind, if Darksiders II is a 9.5, then what do you give games like Portal 2, Dark Souls, Half-Life etc.
I feel like people who review games nowadays 'love' games but don't 'care' about them.
9.5?! Come on! Where's your standards?
Ummm...This is Yahtzee's right? Did he allow this?
What if you're fighting a boss and the phone rings?
Demon's Souls is great, but far from perfect.
I really like it, but mainly because I played Dark Souls first, so I knew the little tricks it would throw to me. The rolling ball down the stairs for one thing. Both games are a little too similar in the 'traps' they have and I think both games needed to introduce the 'challenge' it gives you more gracefully. As Bajo from Good Game said, "A few words on the ground is just not enough.
It really is a console experience. Granted, I'm not that experienced with 3rd Person PC games, but I just can't control my character well enough when my fingers are all spread out like spider legs.
Change the title to "Why RECENT Horror Games Suck" and you got a point.
I'm getting sick of people hating COD.
Yeah...fluid and responsive controls, varied and well paced campaign, excellent multiplayer.....yeah.....it suuuuuccckkkkssss.....
The other two horsemen better make an appearance. There doesn't have to be a Darksiders 3 or 4....but still.
....Does Yahtzee know this is here?
Really? I didn't LOVE it, but I thought it was, at least, functional with some relatively effective moments.
I hate these kinds of lists, where someone just enthusiastically states how a game works without actually saying WHY it's good.
