Also xbox might not have the power this gen.
I doubt it. Sony has the same thing with PS+ and even though it's typically not great (on either platform) northern company will abolish it while the other still does it.
Probably gonna get downvoted into oblivion for this but is anyone a bit disappointed with all the qualifiers?
Early on it seemed like we were gonna get 4k/60 all the time, ray tracing, and no loading times.
Now, its 4k sometimes, ray tracing on just a few games, and much better load times...but still load times.
Super excited about the next gen but...ehhh...
The PS5 will be upscaling Assassin's Creed to get to 4k, multiple games still make us choose between performance and fidelity, and now ray tracing isn't even a thing in Sony's marquee launch game.
I'm super excited for these systems but I'm getting this sinking feeling that the future we were promised (4K/60 with ease, etc) is maybe not realistic.
Of course they are.
Of course it/they won't be released for another 3 years, minimum but yeah, of course they're thinking about the future.
There is just no possible way this could happen. Think about it; the best selling system of ALL time if the Playstation 2 at around 150 million. No other home console is even close to that number, not even other (successful) Playstation machines.
So this person is suggesting that it won't just sell more but that the PS5 has a legitimate shot at DOUBLE the PS2's numbers. Where are these users even coming from? Mass market appeal? The Wii was seemed like it was everyw...
Huge and empty.
I think the vast open world is actually contrary to the games design and works against it.
I remember exploring every nook and cranny thinking that I'd find lots of things but there was almost nothing anywhere.
Power has never been enough to win the generation but it has always helped. Even back on the original Xbox, when a game came out on all three systems, I'd usually get the Xbox version because it was typically the best.
When your system is the most powerful, you right away get sales that don't come from first party games quality.
Fyi, Shenmue 3 is also on sale for 7.99 at Best Buy.
If you buy it through them you get free in store pick up + a very nice steel case.
I really don't think this will result in an acquisition war. Sony already has plenty of top tier games studios. Plus, thier pockets aren't as deep as Microsoft's.
I think a better question is, will this lead to a services war? Sony, eventually, has to match what MS is doing with Game Pass. Maybe not compleat. Maybe they don't put new 1st party games on there day and date. But they are gonna need a lot of big 3rd party games exclusive to PSNow. Sony is really...
Interesting. Does it replicate the N64 stick's feeling?
Lack of an analog stick on the DS ruined the experience for me.
@northpaws
Not sure about all devs but I was under the impression this is what Smart Delivery was for. Which tells me there's a technical system in place for devs making Xbox Series S/X games.
You make it sound like he/she's being ungrateful. This collection isn't free. They chose 3 games a lot of people wanted/loved and decided to do a certain amount of work to them and put them in a package for retail.
Everyone has to decide the value proposition for themselves.
Some will say, as you are, it collects 3 great games and charges one price for them. That is enough to create value.
Others will see the lack of moderniza...
It does t need a new entry, it needs an old one. Gave us an MVC2 remaster please!
I wonder if MS has ever thought about buying Platinum.
I didn't know she was missing.
I don't know how a mid gen refresh could have fixed the PS3's problems and still been a PS3.
It's hard to imagine they will be able to compete with the sheer number of AAA exclusives Sony just showed.
I literally have no idea what shape this thing is going to be in when it finally hits.
