Plenty of good games inbetween, but not for their plot.
I backed this $20 maaaany years ago.
Every couple of years I see someone talking it up on YouTube, then reinstall and try it (the download/installer takes forever)
It's always garbage. Bad controls, bad performance, "meh" graphics, almost zero gameplay.
Will this be the year that changes?
Apex is a million times more polished than the crappy mess that was Anthem demo.
Apex feels more polished than any game in recent history. It doesn't feel tarnished by EAs grubby mitts.
The only good BR game made so far.
It's the only good, polished battle Royale out.
Can't think of a game as polished as this from launch. It's fun, runs smooth as silk too. It's like rainbow six siege meets blackout - except way better than both of them.
I finished the demo today.
It feels like a poor version of Destiny 2, but with flying.
Some parts were downright aggregating. For example, the story hub and how slowly you walk around, the forced fov, the menus and interface that are obviously designed for console not PC.
The hub couldn't be more generic if it tried.
I'll wait for reviews of the final product before thinking about giving these shills my coin....
I played with 4 mates for about 10 hours. It was great!
But it’s a bit boring now, and the grind to get skins is unacceptable. I have a hook hand, a pair of shoes and a gold shovel.
So while it was a great 10 hours, I don’t think there is much more in it.
PUBG is an A grade concept on top of a C grade implementation.
It clearly shows the desire for this genre.
The sooner someone like Dice makes a Battleroyale game on Frostbite (bf3 weapons, bf1 engine) the better.
This battle Royale genre deserves 100+FPS silky smooth performance, amazing gunplay, movement and vehicles.
It feels like Bluehole are out of their depth, which is a shame :(

Absolutely loved the Wingcommander games.
Doom really nailed it with Vulkan. I get solid >200fps on ultra with Vulkan, and it looks amazing!
Compare that with the 50-70fps I get with BF1 (worse on dx12)

I just wish they'd fix the performance issues.
The game is ok, but bf3 and bf4 were more fun for me.
I feel a bit ripped off that I bought premium, but get fps fluctuating between 50 and 130 on a gtx1080 :(. I'd play it a lot more if they stopped the 100% CPU bottlenecking.
Pretty sure Overwatch puts you in a bracket with similar tiered users.
My problem is your skill is rated on the result and not the performance... so if you start out on a team below your skill level (for whatever reason) and you kick ass, but the team loses, you do not advance.
During my placement matches in season 1, my last 3 matches were against at least 2 grand master level smurf accounts (level 5s with less than 3 hours playtime) who slaughtered our ...
