Gears of war is going to need a lot of improvements over the original. GoW 1 got away with some average design decisions by being the first next-gen game of teh generation. Not so lucky second time around
Patapon,
LocoRoco was awesome, I really want to check out this sequel
Originality isn't dead in gaming at all!
Ho can Sakaguchi' sview be subjective? He made the thing.
I tend to think that turn-based is not the way of next-gen. Even the great Sony series like FFXII were starting to admit that. Turn-based seems to be to be a relic of inferior technology.
I bring this up because I the line-up of games on Xbox console seemed to accept this earlier. Traditional JRPG games will dwindle into insignificance in western markets - what will be interesting is whether the Japanese themeselves will begin to embrace the WRPG style
Where the hell were these double packs from the start - money grabbing bastards.
In Oz, where this article is from, we get very few of the JRPGs - they just never come out, or come out so far after their initial release they are outdated on arrival.
Is this similar for you yanks and poms?
PS3 wins (or at least will) on adventure games (discounting the Wii)
As for driving and shooting, the X360 wins for me until I can get a rumble enable PS3 controller, cause those genres suck without it.
RTS and MMO (when it finally launches) will tend X360 because of the PC link.
which is the point. Exclusivity doesn't really matter in this argument since the games are appearing on PC as well, not PS3 as well... I would have thought.
I think the X360 has the big name RPGs of 2008, I think there will be plenty of smaller (in profile) gems on PS3.
Then again I have both consoles so I'm in the money regardless.
on a new Shadow Hearts - that was a great PS2 RPG series that seemed to fall down the cracks.
Children have a habit of trying as hard as they can to get their hands on and use things they're not supposed to.
Plus, I'd call most people up to 21 or even 22 kids given the way they act.
It's called Riff: Everyday Shooter
Bioshock wasn't drugs... but it was shooting up
Thanks for saying that: it's a valid point and I hadn't viewed it from that point of view.
I wonder if you are in the minority or not? I guess it is a very mainstream brand.
nice 8-)
I'm on X360 number 3, although admittedly GH was to blame for none of them.
My latest one is an Elite... after two weeks my disc drive stopped closing on its own - love those quality parts!!!
they did release a patch for the X306 version... it bricked your machine. Maybe you PS3 guys got lucky?
Is so fricken odd - who paid who in that one???
calling it the 3rd shelf, as in the books, the movies and then the games will be three separate visions of the character.
But it seems like they are trying to make it look and play like the movies.
The idea sounds pretty cool, but the whole restriction in what you can do sounds pretty outdated to me.. like three generations out-dated.
How old does that make Mario I wonder?
his Uncharted review was way off
