I've stated in defense for XBL and now in defense of PSN; ANY networked connection (including LAN) will have inherent lag.
PSN doesn't lag no more than XBL and vice-versa.
It's either YOUR connect, someone who you've connected to (host) or some ash-hole F N with the connection using lag switches.
Competitive gaming used to be MAINLY on the PC but XBL has crashed that party.

If you'll notice, there is a lot of heat at the side ventilation slots on the right or top of the unit (depending on if you have the unit standing up or laying flat). If you take a flashlight & look at the ventilation slots, you'll notice a fan there. This area is hot due to the fan EXPELLING (blowing) heat out of the unit (which is what it should be doing), directly off the cpu/gpu!
Again, if you'll notice, the rest of the unit is cool to the touch - unles...

Your choice! I have a 50" with a recling sofa & a large coffee table in front of it. My sofa is about 7 ft back from the tv.
Sitting is not the key here as opposed to standing - Kinect can be used while sitting or standing.
Do you think you're gonna have to stand to use it to watch movies?
IMO Kinect is a party device as well as for my kids. When I'm ready to play games with it, with my kids, or use it while hosting ...

Also the Wii/Kinect question is moot as the Kinect obviously does more (like voice recognition & dashboard control). The question of buying a Wii or Move would be more valid since they both do EXACTLY the same thing (except Move will glow in the dark) CROWD: <GASP!!>
I have kids and was gearing on buying them a Wii this ...
I bought mine on the trade-in deal cause my controller was shot, which would've run me $50 alone. I paid $118 after taxes for the new one, with new controller. Well worth it!

It's not like MS doesn't have ANY exclusives, and I really consider the PC versions of exclusives to be different, thanks to Xbox Live. For example, I can't check my friend's list or compare/receive achievements on PC games like Mass Effect. I can't load up Left4Dead on the PC & automatically be notified of a patch or update & have it auto d/l & auto install.
From the aesthetic design to the function and placement of parts! Feel that heat being blown OUT those air vents? That's what it SUPPOSED to do - blow heat OUT. Any1 will tell u that a CPU/GPU can easily average 45-60 degrees Celcius. Where's all this heat supposed to go?
And the touch-sensitive power & eject just puts it over the top.

Live has BEEN giving discounts and free content since 2002. They've had deals where u sign up & get x amt of months free, buy certain games (MechAssualt was one) or accessories (Web Cam) and you get XBL for free.
And free content includes TV shows & movies as well as free themes, gamer pics & DLC.
But unlike PSN+, if you cancel your service you can keep & still use your free stuff!
