My argument is still valid I feel, as if they just put the Kinect software in with some little bit that allowed any mic instead of just the Kinect mic to recognize it, it would work. Not asking the GAME to recognize it...just saying it would have been a simple software update to the system.
I think it is crazy that they can't put Kinect ANYwhere on the box when it is DLC, not even "optional". Guess I understand, though, if someone is offline.
This will make absolutely no difference to me. Shelf copies are gutted, and when I know I want a game new, I drive to the store with the intent of buying a game, and walk directly to the cashier. Taking a "new" box off the shelf just makes them restock it later.
I love how people have talked about how out of place Phoenix Wright is. He's so far my favorite character due to the uniueness. After all, the whole GAME doesn't take itself seriously. My favorite scene yet has to be in the intro when Deadpool is surfing out of the side of a building on a physical "Objection!" from Phoenix. HA!
I often wonder when sales of this extreme go on, just how much of our hard-earned money goes straight to profit....
Then again, sometimes bargain sales are below cost, where they're recouping what they can.

This is much better than the whole console thing going on. Aren't people who somehow got an early copy getting ban issues on XBL right now? I haven't read much, but I wonder if that even is affecting the press...
I prefer physical media, but I have to say, prerelease timelock midnight play is a pretty neat marketing play!
Brink was sad for me. I know I don't work in the genre much, but I just couldn't do that game. I do love hitting new IPs though, but I like reviews first ($60 game after all). That's why I like XBLA, as I can get new IPs on the cheap usually.
That may work, but it should not be the default. Room exits may not be advantageous, or in my case my son was right there. He wanted me to talk, and it would be odd to just run away from him. It could also swap to him controlling, too. Saw that happen on Kinect Adventures.
@bustercube Once I was talking about the Xbox when someone was watching a movie. The black bar with options came up, and we all got silent while we waited for it to go away...
I dunno. Unit is pricey enough as is. Games are usually 10 cheaper right now...might make that go up to compensate.
I do like how they can "upgrade" through software updates, though. Not like the days of the NES where an upgrade = a new system. Cheaper in the long run.

GREAT ARTICLE. I could (and may) write a whole article on how gaming impacted my family these last four months through my 32 year old wife's sudden infection to open heart surgery. Tetris and Angry Birds kept her sane, the Xbox DVD player kept us socially normal during the hospital stay, the DS provided fun for my son during big med convos, the Wii let he and I bond, and my long-hour games padded the nights I had to stay home with the kids alone while my wife sat in a hospital....games ar...
My beef with it is people are relying on it. Dinos may be cool, but I just pray that the developers don't beat that to a dead horse as well....Uniqueness and different are important.
I think they can be good when they fit the situation. Also, just curious, what do you think of the children's books that are out for Halloween involving zombies/ghosts/etc? I've seen them as simple as the "read to me" 2 year old crew. Is "everything" better with zombies?
I think in moderation....it just seems that so many are trying to put it into everything. I also coulda gone into my religious aspects on this...but that's a whole nother topic, and flame war. :P
In the end, that's what I'm saying. It does make sense, but I guess that it should say "available as DLC".
After all, Catwoman is only available if you DLC on Arkham City, yet she's majorly advertised. Even if you buy it new, you can't access her if you aren't online.
