Okay, I may be sick of seeing zombies in every video game nowadays, but there are some things about this one that appeal to me.
1: Melee combat. This is something that just isn't focused on enough in modern first person games. After playing Zeno Clash and Alien vs. Predator, I can safely say that it is funner than standard shooters. And in the case of Dead Island, I think that this will add urgency and a real sense of danger since you can't just mow down the zombies... #7
It does improve and detract depending on if it is fitting. For example, shooting games. I really like using pointer controls for aiming. It just is more fun to me. But in hack n' slash action games, it is tiring and unnecessary. #1.2
It has been changed from survival horror into action games with survival horror elements. The survival part is almost entirely gone. And with it the horror sort of declined as well.
In a sense it is an entirely new hybrid genre instead of traditional survival horror. #7.1
Rednecks, Trailer Trash etc. You know, the scum you typically see when perusing a Wal-Mart. #6.1.3
I think the government is just behind in the times. But according to everyone above, that's changing now. #4
