Great opinion piece. The truth always hurts, particularly when it comes to gamers who are often blindly & irrationally loyal to a particular system and game series/style/genre. One thing’s for sure – forget all these over hyped dumbed down hybrid sequels trying to appeal to the masses (yes you, Bioware!) and order Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim if you want one of the best gaming experiences you’ll ever have. Guaranteed.

nothing to do with hate my friend. It's a plain & simple fact that ME2 is NOT an RPG as everyone well knows. The reason for the discontent was that ME1 WAS an RPG so fans were naturally expecting ME2 to be an RPG and Bioware marketed it as an RPG when it clearly wasn't.
Hopefully ME3 will be an RPG and we'll all be delighted.
not hate, just lost respect as they've sold their soul to the casual gamer by seriously compromising what once made them great.
Look at what Bethesda are about to do with Skyrim - they've made their flagship RPG more accessible yet retain all the complexity, open worldness and non-linear gameplay that keeps their games & The Elder Scrolls in particular leagues above anything else every time one is released - puts Bioware to shame.
