SWTOR's failure had nothing to with the sub fee. When the game launched there was a mass of hype which lead to a mass of players. This mass of players was divided among several servers. Problem was the game launched in an unfinished state.

The elder game simply wasn't there and folks quickly grew bored (before we even mention the lack of group finder). As a result the population dropped across all servers and so you had a (still sizable but) divided population - this ...

I just assumed it was an MMO - talk about comparing apples and oranges.

I love how you take it upon yourself to speak for the masses. I'm looking forward to ESO. Conversely I've heard very little about Kingdom Come so the hype seems to be restricted.

I avoided the original beta as I couldn't transfer my character and all progress was going to be whiped anyway. Can't wait to actually play on the PS4 with my character - the PS3 shows it's age when there's a lot of enemies/folk on screen.

Glad to see we'll be able to wear whatever gear we want (within reason).

Dungeon grinding offers the highest exp reward now. I also find them far more entertaining than leves and fates.

I think the real shame is the same developer who brought us the like of Goldeneye, Banjo and Perfect Dark as well as so many other great games is now making party games for MS.

As someone who put God knows how many hours into the original (good and bad karma had to be done) the ability to just burst up the side of a building in a flash of neon is the single greatest thing they could do!

I couldn't care less about someone's sexuality. Sadly the gaming industry is still trying to progress out of the idea that a female lead has to be attractive (as well as come with the customary D cups). It will be some time and I understand the reluctance. There are still those who either (like Anthotis) are unsure about homosexuality in games or those who downright view it as a sign.

I don't see any publisher openly allowing their developer to create an issue tha...

I enjoy Realm Reborn on the PS4, but there's no question that ESO is more suited to consoles due to its more simplistic combat. I do like the idea of physically dodging and blocking attacks. Looking forward to the beta.

Listenkids:

I disagree. Whilst there were design decisions I disagreed with (which very well could have instigated by BioWare) EA is a common entity such poor sequels.

The game was rushed - end of. Very little in the way of environments, shorter plot, player decision bottle-necking (which was so clearly a result of lack of implemented alternatives). I don't give BW a free pass, but it's all too clear when EA rushes a game to market. I have no reason t...

Agreed. Activision's track record isn't great although at least we're not dealing with EA.

3701d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Please no. EA have taken some of my favourite franchises and destroyed them in an attempt to broaden their market appeal. With EA at the helm, the developer (presumably BioWare) would be forced to make all sorts of changes - think Dragon Age: Origins to Dragon Age 2.

I'd love a true KotOR III, but I have zero faith in such a project if EA are involved.

@Gekko36

If you're going to correct someone it's best to make sure you're correct yourself. The UK and Britain are not the same thing. Britain refers to Scotland, England and Wales. The United Kingdom (of Great Britain) also includes Northern Ireland.

On topic:

As I resident of Scotland this is great news - too many publishers selling out and out broken products.

WeAreLegion has a point - I don't see how it can break sales records save for Xbox One. As far as Xbox 360/PC/Multiplatform and games in general I don't see a new franchise on limited platforms topping GTA V.

Agreed, which is why I don't quite understand the move. Would have preferred one dev team focused solely on engine work and this seems like a quick fix for a publisher hedging its bets.

Completely agree with Treyarch and I'm gutted they're out a year later (though does mean more dev time). Still, my understanding was that Sledgehammer worked primarily on the MW3 campaign and given all the crapstorm surrounding the game's launch with IW leading development, I'd say give them a chance to see what they can do.

Hey it's CoD - we're all be saying told you so come November :p

I'm a huge battlefield fan, but BF4 did far more damage than good to the franchise. Months after launch and still issues galore. Seems a far cry from Bad Company 2 : (

I was never a huge fan of the leveling system used in Elder Scrolls as, for me, the leveling up felt anti-climatic; you dumped a point into health, stamina or mana and that was that. Big fan of the new perks system to give more meaning to levels.

@BrutallyHonest

Yes they will. The save files are independent files that are stored on your PS3/4's hard drive and can be read by any version of the game. Had the same thing with a physical copy of a game that I later lost and downloaded the digital version months later - previous saves were still there.

Just check the save files are all still there and you're good to go.
