When I was at Electronic Arts for 3 years...Jr. positions ( new graduates)starts in a least $50k/year. But it make sense for the area because cost of living is high. I know many people in the game industry and know that other states do pay less because of cost of living is lower.
I do agree though that the wage indicated int eh article is definitely not competitive.
gangsta_red, I agree with you about developers who intentionally force you to spend money. Those are scumbags for reals.
There are free-mium games for people who don't want to spend money. I never had to spend any money to play free games and I still enjoying playing them. Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Star Wars Commander to name a few are still fun without having to spend real money.
Well said...to me when I hear Microsoft, I think Windows OS, when I hear Sony, I think Bravia TV. When I hear Nintendo...nothing else comes to mind except Game company.
Before any fan boys jump at me, know this, I have a PS4, Xbox One and a Wii U. All 3 systems have games that I'm looking forward to playing in the near future! I'm a fan boy of gaming!
I remember paying $80 for Super Street Fighter II for my Super NES... Kids now a days are so spoiled.
My 3DS XL fits in my front pocket unlike the 2DS.
I consider myself a gamer, have been for a long time now. It's one of the reason I work in the game industry, 9+ years and still going strong.
Also the game industry is how a met my wife and she's also a gamer...so life is good ;). I'm proud to call myself a gamer.
I see where you're coming from and I didn't mean for it to come out like that. I didn't say he is an idiot, just the faces he was making, makes him look like one.
There is a difference between calling someone an idiot because he or she is actually stupid and saying he looks like an idiot because of what he or she is doing at the time.
Anyway, the intended target audience should be middle aged parents with kids within a certain age range.
People fail to realize that ALL commercials go through tests and surveys before it's aired. I know this because I used to work in advertisement.
If the commercial doesn't appeal to you then it's because you are not the intended target. Every commercial has a specific demographic that they are trying to reach so it's definitely no for everyone.
I think the commercial is corny and the father looks like an idiot, but to the right demographics, th...
I remember paying $75 for Super Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES when it first came out...kids now a days have no idea.
it's not the game, it's the video. Look at the IGN logo that pops up in the end, it's also jaggy looking.
I was able to play a few good games with some good player last night. Only about 25+ players online for TDM. Hopefully tonight will be more players.
I'm close to my 4th prestige right now. Couldn't have gotten this far without people to play with right?
I agree with everyone here, quality over quantity. Also it's nice not getting hate mail when I dominate once in awhile. WiiU community is friendly indeed.
Updated last night. Load time is much faster. Still slower than what I would like but at least it's a nice improvement.
A friend of mine sold his Xbox version to get the WiiU version after trying it on mine. I also love the fact that I can play multiplayer on my tablet controller in bed!!
I got BO2 as a gift for the WiiU so I'm playing it and I'm loving it. Took a little getting used to but I have it down now.
Even with only over 1000 players online, I have no problems finding games and people to play with. I've been playing multiplayer every night for the past 5 - 6 days in a row and it's been really fun.
LOL was this article written by a 12 year old boy? Anyway, I have no doubts that the Wii U will sell well, but 3rd party support will be key in continuing it's success. Hopefully we don't get hit with too many shovel-wares.
Also I'll be attending the Wii U event tomorrow in San Francisco. I'll see if I can get as much info, photos and videos as I can.

Nintendo saved the franchise from going under. I rather have it on the Wii U than not having it at all!
I'm a gamer and have been for the past 25+ years. I appreciate all systems and use them for their strengths. PS3 for their first party games, 360 for multi-player games, Wii for first party and family games and eventually the Wii U for first party and family games and maybe some hardcore games...we'll see.
I totally agree with Arius Dion, most of th...
I'm excited to see what devs can do with the 3DS in the near future. Hope to see more great games like this!!!
Yes...I can't stand touch screen controls...I need to feel the analog or D-pad with my thumb to feel like I have more precise control. I have an Iphone and paid for quite a few games, but I forget about them in 2 weeks. On the other hand, I bought Ocarina of Time for my 3DS and can't put it down!
If hand held consoles have a good library of games, it will always do well.
