Oh man, Nemesis scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I remember almost having a heart-attack when I realized he could follow you through doors.

My advice would be to avoid fighting as many zombies as you can, and conserve as much ammo and health items as possible. You're going to need them for the more difficult enemies that show up later in the game :)

It seems to be showing up at the front of the store now. Though I was disappointed to discover we have to pay $30 for it :(

Journey isn't a very accessible game for newcomers imo. The lack of a proper story or specific goals might be off-putting to people who already don't 'get' gaming. I've also found that a lot of non-gamers have trouble with 3D games because of the controls. They can't get their heads around moving their character through a 3D space AND controlling the camera AND performing multiple actions (opening doors, flicking through menu screens, toggling items, etc). It all becom...

The new control system is great imo. It doesn't make the game too easy, but it definitely makes controlling the characters feel more natural, and there are less instances where you'll be trying to turn away from a zombie and accidentally run straight into it instead.

If I recall correctly, Wesker will also leave health items and helpful hints around the mansion for Chris. Barry will leave health items and weapons around the mansion for Jill.

I'm glad the door loading screens are still there (for nostalgic reason), but there should at least be the option to skip it for those who don't want to watch the door transition every time they open a door.

Have you played the RE1 remake before, or just the original? IMO the remake is definitely worth playing just to see the mansion and characters in gorgeous graphics.

This is a HD version of the Gamecube remake, not the original game. So the intro isn't the live-action one. It's the pre-rendered cutscene: http://n4g.com/news/1656843...

Final Fantasy VIII has my favorite OST in the series.

I remember being excited when the R18+ rating was finally brought into Australia, but it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. Games are still being banned. :(

Whenever it rained at my elementary school, we got to stay inside and play computer games during recess. I used to love rainy days because I could kick my friends' butts on Age of Empires.

That's the thing that impressed me the most: How accurate the running and jumping mechanics look. It looks like it handles exactly the same as the original SM64.

I always thought FFVII was one of the most straightforward FF plots. The only confusion comes from the weird translation, but apart from that it's a fairly easy-to-understand story.

Yeah, I thought Majora's Mask did a pretty good job with giving you handy tips without actually hand-holding you. It seems like Nintendo learned their lesson after Navi, and made Tatl (the new fairy) much less intrusive or annoying.

To be fair, many of the people in those before/after photos you linked to obviously have jaw malformations that had to be corrected via surgery. Just look at numbers 7, 8 (this guy couldn't even close his mouth in the 'before' shot!), 9, 14, 15, 16, 22, and 27. That is more than just being vain. People generally don't have their jaws broken and re-shaped for mere aesthetic reasons. That sort of surgery takes months (sometimes over a year) to properly heal and leaves you eating...
