ummm, yes they did. They had to make it custom, which increases the price, because of the ESRAM band aid they
had to use. The ESRAM took up real estate on the SoC making it cost more to produce hence custom. So you can pretend all you want. Also ESRAM isn't some future proof concept, it's a band aid to fix the severely lacking bandwidth their console design has.
This along with Mantle are trying to push gaming forward with better optimizations so devs can get better performance out of their games. This is good for the industry and is the right step forward. I'm looking forward to the improvements it will bring to gaming as a whole.

I'd hope they'd be looking into ways to improve performance and efficiency on Xbox One. I don't see how this is news because isn't this what they are suppose to be doing anyways and what they've done in the past (launch 360 vs end of gen 360).?? You'd have a point if they actually played the game, but no one has so they don't have any place to criticize it yet. Playing a small teaser isn't the game nor is it a demo. Once they do then they can say whatever they want. Also it's a Sony game so these kind of articles are the norm for their exclusives.
