Looks about right to me. Cosmetic changes will mean some new customers. Wonder what other changes there are under the hood apart from the lack of UMD.
I'm really hoping with this announcement Sony will also beef up the PSP store with a ton of stuff. Looking forward to that more IMO.
EDIT: I don't see this costing them that much more to produce than the current model. Wonder if it'll be more or less then the 3000 and if there will be a price drop.
Yeah it sucks for those that still play PS2 stuff, if this is indeed the case.
In my case if that happened I'd actually be OK with getting an 80GB as I don't play PS2 games anymore and the 80's draw less power and generally speaking thought of as more reliable.
What the article is saying is GameStop is predicting a $50 drop in both consoles' price before the end of the year.
Well the 360 already has it's 50 drop, and to be honest it's a pretty blah prediction because if Sony doesn't drop 50 by the holiday it will lose some marketshare to MS.
So they release the 60GB for $350, and then a month later cut it to $300? Doesn't make much sense to me.

... looks like a good deal, but I don't think it includes the mics. It states shipping weight as 0.3 lbs which is the standard weight of just a game. Seeing as the singstars for ps2 go for $30 standalone it doesn't seem like a "great" deal.
Patch 1.1 will be available before the end of oct, which primarily fixes stat and connectivity issues.
I'm hoping that if an expansion pack is coming out in december that that will be at the latest when they fix the server/stat issues. Which would great.

So how will both versions work in multiplayer? With one set of people seeing damage and the others not seeing damage. That's just weird.
I just payed for a TV with no-interest financing, so why not a console? Especially with a $150 rebate so to speak.
