I've always considered Zelda an ongoing project and that it's a no-brainer that a new one is in the works. Still, it feels a little early to talk about a new game in the series. Most Zelda fans I know haven't finished or played SW yet.
At this point I personally don't care if there isn't a stellar line-up for the Wii this year. I still have a handful of games in my Wii library I still haven't played thoroughly, ten games or so from it's back catalog I've been itching to play but haven't gotten around to, and at least 50 games on Virtual Console and WiiWare games on my wish list. That's more than I'd be able to finish this year, and The Last Story and Pandora's Tower haven't even relea...
Downloaded this on VC 3 weeks ago along with Secret of Mana and Phantasy Star, but still haven't played it. This review and your comments just got me more hyped.
I don't have a link, but I read somewhere that Aonuma said the next 3DS Zelda won't be a remake. Two remakes after each other on the same console would be a little lazy, after all.
Aah, 8-bit kicks some serious orchestrated ass.
I ordered it last week for $25 +/-, which is dirt cheap in Norway. Had it by Tuesday, but still haven't touched it since I'm still hooked on Xenoblade. 150 hours in and still not tired of it.
A subscription fee has been confirmed for Japan if I'm not mistaking, but it could be like Monster Hunter Tri and be free to play in the west. It would make sense since the games not so popular outside of Japan that they can afford to alienate the fans with a fee.
I haven't played a main entry in the DQ series before, but was looking forward to DQX when I learned it would be on Wii. The fact that it's mainly online is kind of a turn off, though.
The biggest issue I have with CoD is some its fans. I say 'some' because, while those I know personally are a clever bunch with a lot of smart things to say and criticism toward the franchise, when I go online I'm often met with a raging horde ignoramuses. You all know the kind; Those people who go on message boards and act like little kids, trying to get their point across by spouting ignorant comments with the not-so-subliminal message that if you play CoD, then you're a gro...
I'm sorry to say this, but teabagging does not equal getting laid.
It's great to see such diversity in the sales charts for once. Also, the 3DS has sold more than I expected. I was under the impression that it was in the 8-9 million range. I still won't be buying one until the imminent revision drops, though.
Next week should be interesting with the first sales numbers of the Vita. I want to see it do well, as it's seems like a more complete piece of tech than most of the stuff out there.
God, I hope so! Not that I'm clamoring for a new Zelda already, but I REALLY want to see what Retro can do with the franchise.
Until next year, I suppose.
I just mean that it's good the game sold so well in only 2 days, despite the fact that the 3DS isn't even close to the install base of the PSP and DS. It could potentially be bad for a handheld if Monster Hunter underperformed, as it was/is the main factor to the PSP's longevity in Japan.
A Pokemon MMO for Wii U and I'd never leave my house again.
It could mean trouble if a portable Monster Hunter failed in Japan.
Retro Studios would be the greatest addition Nintendo could make to the development team of (the next?) Zelda. They haven't made a bad game since they started working with Nintendo, and have shown a great level of diversity with their games to date.
You should be excited. It's better than Skyward Sword.
The review is good, and it sums up a lot of the gripes I have with the game myself. I don't agree fully with the sword controls, though. It's not the revolution we hoped for, but I don't find it as big a problem as the reviewer. The game doesn't try to treat waggling as 1:1 motion, and instead treats it as a B button from older games where Link follows the same old sword strike combo. Therefore, trying to hit in a specific direction shouldn't be harder than in other games...
I finished the game today, and was pleasantly surprised when it introduced Hero Mode. Regular Mode didn't provide me with a hefty challenge despite taking nearly 40 hours to finish, and I figured this would ramp up the difficulty. It's disappointing to see that it doesn't. It also overwrote my save so I can't go back and enjoy the occasional Boss Rush either. I'll probably play it again sometime, but learning this I won't be in a hurry.
Still, the best...
And what Rare used to be, I wanna add.
Retro is my main reason for wanting a Wii U, with Monolith Soft, GC VC and Zelda being the others at the moment.
Seeing what these studios did with the humble Wii, I can't wait to see what they'd do with a next gen console.
