"Would you had still felt the same way if someone had been using your credit card last weekend?"
If CC info had actually been leaked in non-encrypted form, maybe not. But no info has been confirmed connected with this incident.
I don't live in the land of What Ifs.
"Theres a poll that said 20 percent of users are deserting to go play on live.I also know a few people who have made the switch "
They're called trolls.
My credit card info has been leaked in an unknown encryption! Of Course I'm going to avoid PSN from now on! My info is out there in nonsensical form!
And then what? When PSN is back online, I start playing games online for free again??
ARE YOU NUTS?!?!
I've ALREADY buried my Ps3 in the backyard!
EDIT: Do I REALLY have to add a "/sarcasm" tag?
Whaddidjew say, college boy??
The original Banjo-Kazooie games were amazing, of course THEY're worth $15.
As for COD map packs that are a few slightly modified versions of SP maps....no.
"weren't we told are credit card information is encrypted"
Yes, but out of the millions of people who get their information stolen, there's no way that one of them being a PSN user could be a coincidence. People are MUCH too careful with their personal information.

Man, am I sick of hearing about the wedding.
We have one of the most devastating series of storms in the states in years, and yet this wedding seems to get 10:1 coverage compared to that.
One of the most pointless figureheads in the world is getting married? Woop-de-freaking-doo. Then we can get back to Oprah and Snookie, and bashing our heads against the wall. And then those things will blow over and our media can get back to defending our awful president...
"Trolling"? Considering Paintsville has had a copy-paste parade of this comment ( http://n4g.com/user/comment... ) and he has changed all of his stuff into anti-PS3 crap, I do believe this should have been marked as SPAM.
As for compensation,
Sony better give us some free PSN online access after this :)
I handed the cashier my cash, and a robber ran in and intercepted it.
Logical step: Sue store.

Stored my stuff in a vault at the bank, robber breaks in and steals it.
Logical step: Sue bank.

Sony/PS3 haters still praying for that class action lawsuit, I see. Still think a class action lawsuit often "bankrupts" multi-billion $$ corporations? lol
Some hackers actually fighting for GAMING, instead of some idiotic principles of "freedom of speech of giving away copy-protected info while making profit...I mean, donations/vacation money"?
I'm shocked!
No one on the internets likes games!!

Among any of the possible real cases, will be exponentially more paranoia, concern trolling, and fraudulent fraud.
Are the few people making this claim telling the truth and right about the source of lost info? Probably not.
And it's sad to know that false cases will probably swamp and cause confusion to any possible real cases.
But I think we'd see something more serious if the hackers had gotten the info as plainly as claimed.
"I would like to know how they are not compromised when hundreds of dollars have already been stolen!?"
1) There is no way of linking those incidents to PSN. Fraud happens ALL the time, and these cases might be completely unrelated.
2) These "cases" that you're referring to are a random NeoGoof post and an email. NeoGoof is a hotbed of anti-PS3 concern trolls. The chances of these being real....not really all that high.
Agreed, if they kept us up to date, there would definitely be less fear.
I'm almost tempted to buy some stock. With a fall like this, a return to the norm could potentially mean a lot of gain. But you might want to wait; the longer the issue, the more stocks could potentially fall.
@Below
It's interesting how so many people know that Sony "cut corners" or whatever with security.
As if they're the first to have a hole f...
@lociefer
Good point. And with the fact that NeoGoof concern trolls know they can get this site's attention though random, no-name posts, it wouldn't surprise me to see them using this site as an outlet to spread BS.
There's an equal chance that these random persons are legit or fake.
And I think we can all agree that we hope this fake, for everyone's sake.
NO ONE has officially confirmed leaked info, including CC info. Sony ...
320GB PS3 for a 250GB 360 + paying for the online separately? That's stupid.
Pure profit for GameStation.
And NOW the fanboys can panic about the ONE Neogoof post from an unknown user.
Seriously hope that the info is safe in all seriousness. These ARE still just suspicions/worries, though.
I prefer the guy who does Marcus (John Di Maggio). He's also the voice behind Bender, "Jake the Dog" and newer cartoon joker roles (since Mark Hamill is hanging up his red nose).
"Did you forget how the media slammed the Gamecube all the time, calling it "kiddy" and complaining about the lack of 3rd party games? Did you forget how the media slammed the Wii even before launch?"
Aren't you getting it? They kiss the rear of whoever is worth the most money, and attack who is the source of least money. Last gen? PS2 (most) and Gcube (least). This gen? Wii (most) and PS3 (least).
They'll go into next-gen exp...
One person. One Debit card. One PSN user. One case. One post.
One thousand degrees.
Thousands have their info stolen every day. We can't jump to the assumption that one person who happened to be a PSN user had his info stolen via PSN.
COULD this be PSN related? It's a possibility.
Can we wait for ONE reliable source before jumping to conclusions? I think so.
And remember, NeoGoof is full of concern trolls.
This is easily the dumbest marketing technique I have ever laid my eyes upon.
"DUUUUHHHH, we trow away gaem port now and stop making moar monies?"
This company is developing a game for Dreamcast. I'm sure they're the future of the gaming industry.
