My #1 underrated game of 2010: 3D Dot Game Heroes. It was smashed in reviews (averaging 7/10 on Metacritic), but I loved every minute of it. I can't expect someoen who cut their teeth on Call of Duty or Halo to understand, but for those who grew up on Zelda, Dragon Warrior, and Final Fantasy, 3D Dot Game Heroes is a love letter to those gamers.
I haven't played MAG, and I'm not traditionally an online FPS gamer (I've done my share throughout the years on various FPSs, but they're not my favorite).
Is MAG different enough from KZ2 or CoD or Halo to be worth a try?
I was about to say "congrats, 360!" but then realized the source was VGChartz.
What a joke. I'd rather consult a slab of pavement for accurate console sales before I ask VGCHartz.
3d Dot Game Heroes was one of my favorite games of this year, despite its average reviews of 7/10. Sure, perhaps gamers who grew up on Call of Duty can't understand it, but for gamers who grew up with Zelda and classic RPGs, this gem is so entertaining and so funny.
PSP had the best year, IMO. I simply can't understand how 360 had a "great" year in anyone's eyes. The 360 really only had two standout games this year: ME2 and Halo Reach, and those were at the very beginning and very end of the year. Splinter Cell, Fable 3, and Crackdown 2 were all quite disappointing. Then again, PS3 disappointed me by pushing LBP2 into 2011, so there ya go.
You're not alone. It's sad that the 360 hardware problems are so incredibly bad, people don't bat an eye when these news stories come out. I wish people held Microsoft to a higher standard instead of accepting their crap.
Buying the Collector's Edition on day one, since it also comes with DS: Extraction and I have 2 Move controllers. Heck yeah!
So, IGN uses their own scores (which are rubbish) to determine the overall winner...yeah, that's reliable.
Sadly, certain gamers and reviewers will dismiss LBP2 as "kiddy". Or they'll knock it for some arbitrary reason.
But true gamers will be loving every minute of LBP2.
The ending to Fable III was horrible. Easily the worst of the series and one of the worst game endings period.
Plus, you know how you level up and get armor? You get "Crests" which unlock treasure chests, and in these chests are stats and armor. That's right: you level up by opening treasure chests.
Molyneux = failure.
IGN is a crap site owned by Gamestop (which should tell you something). They had an amateur journalist review GT5, they grossly underscored Move titles even though Kinect titles suffered from the same (or worse) issues, and it has been known for a while that they're on the take.
XBLA did indeed have one of its best years. There were several must-buy games.
Yeah, the peripherals need BIGGER games, because as sales show, gamers are clearly willing to buy into both of them. My buddies were over last night trying out Move Sports Champions and they had a blast doing sword-fighting, table-tennis, and disc golf (they disc in real life, too). But each of them said that they wish there were more "fleshed out" games, because they'd definitely play them.
Spelunky!!!! Been playing that since mid-2009. An unforgiving platformer with randomly-generated levels and blonde hotties that give you kisses for health? Yes!
Regardless of how many Kinect cameras sell, the question on all gamers' minds is:
Will high sales equate to more core games for Kinect?
They may or may not be "maxed out"...technically. In theory. Supposedly.
However, 360 games definitely seem maxed out. We have yet to see any 360 game surpass the graphics of CoD or Gears 2. The PS3, on the other hand, continues to outdo itself year after year.
My buddy has this for his iPhone and I've tried it out. It's legit. I'd definitely like to see more dedicated iPhone games like this.
This article was approximately 1000% better than IGN's "10 best game stories of 2010"....that article was a joke.
Well we had MGS: Peace Walker, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Phantasy Star 2, and several other solid PSP games. Not to mention the fact that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd launched in Japan in November....yeah...I'm sure THAT didn't boost sales.
