Meh, with movies having explored content across the spectrum, what makes video games such a different zone? It's for all ages nowadays and honestly if the writer looked hard enough, he would find indie titles that successfully portray a lot of the taboos that he argues against.
Vaporware /def/ a term in the computer industry that describes a product, typically computer hardware or software, that is announced to the general public but is never actually released nor officially cancelled.
Quite a great thing that indie devs are getting a console that won't cost an arm and a leg to develop for... it may very well redefine mass gaming. Most indie games that are worth a damn don't get TV advertising or fancy boxing at Gamestop. They get talked about on Reddit and neogaf. So many possibilities and honestly, it could very well undercut Valve if they can get a worthy distribution platform.

Does any actor "matter" at all? She's just an entertainer. You can like her or not. Why does any actor have to "matter"?
Personally, I enjoy her stuff, I think the Guild is funny. And she can comment on games, so I guess that's a plus.
But anyone trying to justify any actor's place in "the industry" is clearly looking for sensationalism...and failing.
