@colleen-wyndam
So we should never voice our dissatisfaction?
The game is a well established franchise with a fanbase that have certain expectations. If the developer screws up, I'm damn well going to complain.
Hayashi ruined one of my most beloved game series and anticipated game. So hell yes, I will freaken complain!
Bring back Itagaki!!!
I cancelled my Collector's Edition at GameStop today and I'm like the biggest fan ever. I spent hundreds of hours on NG2 and own multiple copies of every game released.
This game from start to finish sounds like a disaster. The signs have been there all along:
- no dismemberment
- one weapon
- QTE
- enemies that beg for their life
... and now repetitive Dynasty Warrior like game play!?
I'm ...
Many of us don't live at home with our parents still and use the Kinect for a lot of other things such as the voice commands while watching a movie.
That said, if it is an issue and you are paranoid enough, a piece of paper would do just as fine and is at least $10 cheaper.
@mttrackmaster38
The texture pop-in has nothing to do with the frame rate, but everything to do with the lack of video memory. That is why the PS3 version suffers more than the Xbox 360, which again suffers more than PC.
Rage is impressive running at 60fps pushing those graphics on multi-platform. Too bad the game was mediocre.
@NYC_Gamer
Well, some (or most) of us would like to play "mainstream piece of" awesomeness. You don't have to buy them, or play them!
Those 80's-90's games are available for you to play right now, for pennies on the dollar.
Well, good luck trying to raise $50 million for that AAA game. Oh, and make sure you get plenty of marketing for the game upon release.
I agree, NGB is hardly violent compared to NG2. Gears of War is also more violent than NGB....
How did Ninja Gaiden 2 make the list? It was great!
I guess Xbox Live is open after all....
I kept mine, but then again I bought the limited edition at a huge discount.
I still haven't finished the DLC....
If you read the tech analysis, even on the Xbox 360 and PS3 the performance isn't perfect at the current resolution. Ironically, the Xbox 360 version fared better than the PS3 version.
@morgenfell
***At a briefing last month the game was being shopped to other publishers because Itagaki had been using a lot of funding on travel and parties and the game actually seemed to have taken a step backward.***
... and you have sources to back up about these parties?
Also, what way has the game taken a step backwards? Especially since a previous Devil's Third game doesn't exist...
***THQ was shopping the proj...
Ninja Blade was a game I regretted buying!
Sadly, NG ip is going down the drains thanks to Hayashi and poor leadership at Tecmo. I guess I will have to wait for Devil's Third by a true master.
I'm cancelling my pre-order of the Collector's Edition. This game appears to be a huge down grade... sad though cuz I kicked @ss on NG2 and spent hundreds of hours in it.
Sony already announced they would not show a PS4 at this E3, but I doubt it with a lot of resources being funneled towards PS Vita. This might delay PS4 into 2014 especially considering the state of PS3....
People underestimated the Wii... and look what happened. Nintendo is not a company you would take lightly of the three.
They are probably waiting to see what Nintendo is up to, before MS releases their next console. One year head start is an advantage, but it is far from detrimental.
In many ways, releasing later gives you plenty of advantages IF you take advantage of them.
If the Xbox 360 is dead, I wonder what people would characterize the state of the competing consoles considering Xbox 360 beat all competitors in 2011?
@Pokemon_Master
True, but we also get a lot of XBLA type games. Some of them are good enough to be a full on disc release in the previous generation.
Next generation, who knows... the tools might be so good indie's can make Xbox 360/PS3 disc based games?
So what happened to the lower scoring reviews?
On metacritic, the overall score sits at 60 based on 7 reviews so it ain't all roses unless you selectively pick the reviews:
