I don't think so, it was mainly because it was released when Red Dead came out.. Every single game that month failed to reach their goal in sales

The big factor between Alan Wake and Heavy Rain is when they were released.. Every game that was released that month was slaughtered by Red Dead Redemption..

Another game that was a flop was Blur, which had a lot of marketing put into it too.

Alan Wake is unique in many ways, it is really a story based game, in the form of a TV series. Which worked well.. Replay value maybe lacking, but do you watch episodes of Lost, over and over again...
In fact the only time I replayed a chapter was often because I thought I may have missed something in the story.. Since it's easy to get hooked.. And wow the game really scared me in a unique way, that I haven't seen in any other games. Personally I reckon the game could make it...

I would say Mafia 1, was very different from GTA... As there was less focus on the sandbox and more on the missions.. Alan Wake is pretty similar to some extent, since it is basically it is set in a sandbox world, but in certain chapter you can't visit certain areas.. Remember that Alan Wake was originally a sandbox..

Basically Mafia 2 is a lesser clone than something like Saints Row 2 or The Godfather Video Game Series

I hate pre-order exclusives weather it's if you buy the game from a certain store/ pre-order it/buy it from a certain country or even unlock certain things from playing another games.. You paid roughly the same amount of money, therefore you should really get the same stuff..

On a positive note, I think this will come close to the brilliance of GTA IV..

I read that in 2011 Microsoft are going to focus on exclusives, mainly because they lacked it

I would like to see a DLC with more armor.. Maybe even an easter egg.. I would say Halo but that wouldn't be innovative.. Maybe a fallout helmet or mass effect face.. Heck Fable III Face can be stuck on

Grow up..

And this is coming from someone who plays the 360 more often than the ps3

I don't car how things look, i buy them for the games

I agree partially with what you say about the guy above.. The PSN doesn't immitate. But xbox live marketplace has a wider selection of arcades and dlc.. This is coming from someone that owns both consoles.

I personally think that Lives service is alot better than the free PS3 service.. Mainly because Microsoft has more money to spend on it.. So really Ronster u can't compare PSN with Xbox Live..

Regardless both consoles are good, Fan-boyism is stupid...

I think Peter has zipped his mouth for Fable 3.. Definitely less hype around it, would give him a lot of credit if this was a huge success.

I think the shop idea is good, and i'm glad they've looked at other games and copied little things like that, which helped bring down the average review score.

Personally all i think Fable 3 needs is to make the monsters more scary, look at how games like Alan Wake are soo creepy.

A mature story line, or atleast a story with depth would be nice.. I want to get sucked into the story like Zelda, Final Fantasy VI, Half Life 2, Grand Fandango, Deus Ex or ...
