Actually, I think people are seeing what they want to see. And far too many people "want" to see Microsoft abandon the core so they can point fingers.

How could that possibly be true? I'm also thinking the "core" is getting stubborn about what kinds of experiences they try to enjoy and they get offended at the presence of causal games on their console, or at least those that get any press time. I'm not saying the core needs to go play Disneyland...

What I'm hearing from the core crowd is they want a core shooter using Kinect. That's not happening, unless Microsoft adopts their own version of Move-style controllers. While I think Kinect tech is pretty cool, it is relatively limited... and there is something to be said for buttons.

I don't care what the price of 3D tech is. Whatever it is, the price is coming down to what's more fair. I'm not about to pay a ridiculous margin on a gimmick that will be virtually standard within 5 years. With passive glasses.

Nintendo can show their familay friendly games without a kid in sight. Why can't Microsoft?

I still think Sony had one hell of a show and Nintendo had a head-scratching-ly "meh" show. Microsoft had a medicore show. I would still call it better than Nintendo's.

Now there is no excuse for not playing Infamous before 2 comes out.

Are you kidding? XBL is more secure for one reason: It hasn't been hacked like this yet. Well, maybe not a reason, but it should be taken as proof positive that, whether or not money from XBL is reinvested in the service... which it is... XBL is more secure.

Do you really think there aren't more hackers who have targeted Microsoft over the years? How about the linux loving script-kiddies who were raised sucking on the teat of socialism. I know, a gross generaliza...

This is an intelligent post on an moronic post of an intelligent post. Thanks for tipping the scales in favor of intelligence.

The low scores for the first were entirely undeserved. I thought Infamous was quite engaging, though some of the glitches that kept me from finishing the game 100% were kind of irritating.

And I can't wait for 2.

I know I got a reputation as an Xbox fanboy around here, but I found Infamous was a great game, worthy of all the attention.

The closest thing to a flawless JRPG. Not overly complex, not overly long, touching, epic, filled with unforgettable iconic characters, and plays very well with top notch polish for the era.

As the Most Interesting Gamer In The World, I don't always play JRPGs, but when I do, I prefer Chrono Trigger.

You get the agree for citing inFamous as a major dealmaker. It's really the only game in the PS3 catalog that has fully engaged me.

@Enate: "(JRPGs are) one genre that has yet to have that stand out game this gen."

Excellent observation, but I doubt we will see JRPG's returning to prominence. Just about everything that can be done in a vanilla JRPG has been done and all thats left for "innovation" is gimmick mechanics.

Though, I hope I'll be proven wrong.

Wishful thinking. You forget the industry is ruled by tribal gangs of fanboys who only know how to escalate and insult.

There are no more intelligent people left in the console gaming community. Only stupid children.

The world is changing, and snarky petty children aren't going to keep the "core market" intact. In fact, it's going to leave the formerly fringe users, the users deemed too dweeby to play with the cool kids, in the fringe while the market matures to serve mature players.

Sorry. You're not the core market anymore. And Sony, after getting trounced by Kinect sales, should be getting wise about this any day now...

Oh, that's right. ...

Yeah, isn't that funny. Zombie consumers and a company that can do no wrong even in the face of significant wrong. Where have we seen this before?

This is why I have grown to dislike games. You people. You've ruined games with your empty-headed bullshit.

Let's get back to the good part.

I'm not sure Sony owes us anything in terms of freebies. But what they owe us as taxpayers... that's what I'm more concerned with.

You should find new friends. Seek friends who are NOT inconsolable snarkaholics. I swear... stupid children in their late 20s/early 30s are why I'm not playing games right now...

Right. MK is still THE fighting game as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure how Street Fighter is still relevant. Between the absurdity that is Marvel vs Capcom and the bastard halfbreed child SF x Tekken, why haven't we written SF off as what it is: played out.

It's.... a bit rubbish. I mean, there are still significant loading problems and the controls and movement leave a lot to be desired.

So, on top of a ripoff, it's a poorly made ripoff.
