@kneon All of the big games websites have had articles on the Nintendo directs so far so why would that change? If anything this gives Nintendo more control. I see this a lot about the name Wii U but would those same people definitively know what a PS4 was or Durango? Probably not. Does nintendo really need to communicate with those people? Maybe not viable to compare it solely to the Wii U but isnt everything selling worse? 3DS is selling worse than DS, Wii U is not selling well and perhaps more compelling, software sales are down despite ps3 and 360 user bases being at their largest point ever. Some of this I suppose could be due to fatigue of a certain franchise i.e deadspace3, GOW3, Gears4 or it could be that times have changed and other than avid gamers, video games have a lower priority now. @game4life. I think you are both right. If you go to friendlist and add someone random by entering their name they must also add you first. I think this is to protect children from randoms trying to add them. However if you go to friendlist and you have been on a game with someone (see history) you can add them and they can accept. There is also another way in which you can add them from miiverse by inputing their name (same as friendlist) and they will just get the option to accept or declin...
@Abriael You seem quite well informed so I am pretty sure you also know that the digital copy of DQX is half the price when upgrading from the Wii version and these numbers are not tracked so could 'potentially' have a decent proportion of sales (could also be squat tbh) but you selectively omit this from your comments like you have an agenda rather than present all of the facts.

Just because they have a stash of cash doesn't mean they don't want to make profit on the system. It already selling at a loss. Do you think that just because they have money built up they can go to their shareholders and say we are going to build this new system but over its operating lifetime we are going to be down £5,000,000 but thats ok because we have £10,000,000 in the bank and at least theyellowflash30 will be happy because our graphics are the best.
The way I see it if you know football is Nintendo are a bit like Arsenal. They are trying to compete at the top level whilst balancing the books - sacrifices have to be made.
Sony right now are Man City. They have put a lot of money into the PS4 judging by the fact it the hardware will likely be sold at a loss so they are risking their business if it doesnt sell great.
Might be good news for Ubisoft. Seeing as their the only 3rd party really supporting Wii U they wont have many other 3rd party titles to go up against and there wont be as much saturation so their titles may flourish. Watchdogs wont be coming a few months after GTA etc etc for Wii U owners so only one choice.
