Of course it's a competition, people want to see what each system will offer and such. Not everyone can afford multiple consoles, or they think that one is more than enough. LOL many people chose the Xbox 360 over the PS3 because of it's cheaper price tag, with Kinect being optional. So when Sony included Blu-Ray in the PS3 it was blasphemy and total not needed, but when Microsoft is pushing Kinect down everyone's throat it's okay? Hypocrites. I don't think we should be saying Sony won next-gen as the PS4 and Xbox 720 aren't even out yet, but Sony are in a better position with the near PS4 launch then they were when they launched the PS3. #2.1.3
