To an extent, you're right.. Games seem to be going the way of movies. Remasters and remakes..but it sells. For now.
And PC? really? The games on Steam green light are beyond unoriginality.
So, basically.. Stop making mediocre action games and make fecking good horror games again.
People want horror.
I use lighting and projection at work to create some fun effects but you’re always thwarted by shadows, mainly your own!
Scanning a room and using something like Oculus Rift however..
Running that many projectors isn’t practical in a residential environment. They produce far too much heat and your electricity company will start sending you share options through the mail instead of bills.
In a theme park, this COULD work but it would still be pretty crappy.
I absolutely love my Vita. MGS collection gets a caining regularly and there are so many other great games knocking around for it.
I wish to Gabe that a Gran Turismo gets to see daylight. I'd also LOVE Skyrim and MGS4.
I can wish.
Very well said.
The franchise was incredible but started to lose its way around The Room but that game was still great in its own right.
The past few have been dreadful games. There was a little bit of fear in Downpur but that's about it.
The PT demo and the latest trailer are incredible and more than a return to form to a quality I wasn't expecting to see again. Not long ago I was calling for Silent Hill to be canned completely while it could carry a little di...
Very impressive!
Lots oh "WHOAAA!" moments for me.
The coop with Quiet is interesting.
Looks like they're trying to incorporate gameplay styles for everyone. I'm not a big fan of all out action games but the latter part of that video was balls out, guns blazing action!
I'm pretty sure it's going to be first person.
I'm also pretty sure that there won't be much in the way of combat, like Amnesia, and there won't be on screen prompts. There'll be occasional X button presses and the look zoom thing. I'm also predicting that rather than hiding from things, this game will push you into facing what's on screen to progress.
I may be completely wrong but hey, the trailer and the demo are f*cking brilliant, atmospheric...
All they need to do is:
1) Release Skyrim, Gran Turismo, an exclusive MGS, inFamous and a few others for Vita
2) ...
3) Profit
Making some of the PSN PS3 games available on vita would work wonders too. The older ones especially.
I love my Vita but it's full of PS1 games and a handful of PS+ releases.
Kick the AAA development back in!! It's an awesome console! Give it the games it deserves!
I agree with everything except the remake part. I fucking LOVE Silent Hill but it's about time they but it to sleep unfortunately.
The charm of the first game are its faults (fog due to tech restrictions etc). It all went downhill for me when the Japanese relinquished development to other teams. The Japanese do horror like no one else.
I hate to say it but Logic has a great point. The overall cost they'd lay out to even get the game developed probably wouldn't even see a return unless there were compromises made in way of DLC, multiplayer modes, online passes etc.
As much as theyre epic games I kinda hope they keep it in the grave...there are far too many brilliant franchises being ruined by reboots and remakes. I'm not entirely sure they could recapture the magic of the two games we know and lo...
Whenever there are rocks or a wall, i jump on it and pretend I'm grinding a rail on Tony Hawk..
:/
..just me then?
Brilliant game. Not updated to the latest release yet..
What are the changes?
The writer obviously never played Duke Nukem Forever.
This article is B.S. Look where it came from. The Daily Fail aren't exactly the pinnacle of modern journalism and have had an agenda to tarnish the reputation of gaming and gamers for years.
Do the good thing and buy this game used if you're looking to play it.
Konami have messed around with Silent Hill far too much and for far too long to warrant a sale from me. I'm still buying the game but am buying used so they don't see any of my money.
Same with the HD collection because of the replacement of the voices.
Silent Hill used to be soooooo good. Now it's an absolute mess.
I've been buying music CDs for years that are FAR from full to capacity.. Oh no! Call the Space Waste Police to recall all that precious surface area.
Idiot.
...wat?
I'm pretty sure we all know why it didn't appeal to the 'core'. Do we really need an article on it?
@jaosobno
Everything you say there are brilliant points, especially number 10.
Sonys idea of marketing is to let the Playstation brand sell itself, unfortunately.
They've done well with K.B adverts though, giving their product a personality.
Fallout 3 and NV weren't exactly powerhouses in the graphics department but they were incredible games in terms of the atmosphere and world they created.
Graphics are not everything. I for one would rather have a subpar looking game with a great story and environment than a stellar looking game without content or depth but that's just me.
I can't wait to play the game, not just look at it.
