I especially think fanboy needs to die, I don't feel like it ever adds anything meaningful to a conversation anymore and it's usually said by the people who most exemplify the very term. It's a self fulfilling term for the very culture who use it derogatorily.
'You like your Xbox? Screw that and go buy a PS3 you fanboy.'
I also submit that 'nades' should also be on this list.
I laughed out loud at the end of the first paragraph, great article throughout!
Hmm, for gamers who love the PS3 controllers but play on other consoles as well this would be great, but what does Sony get out of it? On one hand I guess they potentially sell more controllers and make fans happy but they would also be encouraging gamers to play on non-Sony consoles as well. Hopefully they aren't just snatching up the patent without intending to act on it.
Wow, that's really interesting and pretty up front of Bungie. Hopefully they won't rush future games quite so much so that they don't have any more big regrets in the future.
At very least, if we get Firefight in Reach, hopefully this means we'll get matchmaking for it.
My thoughts exactly Lynx, yet another game to add to my list of games to play someday when I get a PS3.
How does that justify piracy? A lot of people still worked really hard on it and the quality of the game should determine whether you buy the game or pass on it. If it’s bad, don’t play it. You’re creating a moral distinction based on an irrelevant factor, choose to pirate or not, but create a completely arbitrary morally distinct line to make you feel better.
I'm sure that's as big of a part of it as anything but that really doesn't have an effect on whether it's wrong or right.
v1c1ous, I think you hit it on the head, the only time piracy might be okay is in the case when there is no other way to purchase it legitimately, and even then it's a tough call.
I wouldn't consider getting a crack of a game you already own on the platform you already own it on because something technically is broken (IE; not because you lent the game to your buddy). But that's an argument for semantics, I'd love to see that issue played out in court to see what legal precedent ...
I'll pick up the game eventually, hopefully by that point it will have stabilized a bit, if not, I'm really only there for the single player anyway.
Great deal if you haven't already gotten the original, Bioware's really on a roll since Dragon Age first hit.
This is an interesting take on the game, I hadn't really considered that it wasn't being brought out to the Wii, that is a surprising move on Capcom's part. I totally agree that it's not going to be a particularly good way to play the game though.
This really is looking quite awesome, I can't wait to give it a try. I didn't grow up with Sonic and have had only limited exposure to the Sonic games sense then so it will be fun to give a proper Sonic title a go so many years after the original.
Well, this will certainly make it easier for friends to organize an intervention when someone starts taking the game a little too far. :)
Lots of WoW updates recently, I figured they'd get around to Facebook and web auction management a while ago but it's here now.
I can completely understand your point Thracks, I'm sure this is a bummer for the really hard-core players. But it does make the game much more accessible to players like me who get bored of anything 5000 hours in. :) I'd rather play it to the end once and then move on, but that's not really an MMO wet dream.
As someone who played six months (give-or-take) of WoW and got a single character up to about 50 before Burning Crusades came out and then got bored I find this really compelling. Simplifying the skill trees and focusing on more active skills will make every level a little more interesting and keep the pace up better. Or, at least that's what it looks like.
I'm quite interested in returning to WoW after Cataclysm, especially with the almost legendary improvements to MMO narra...
<3 you EA, thanks for sticking by your boys and then raping their IP. Nothing but respect guys.
/sarcasm :(
This is really sad news :(
Wouldn't do much good with my crappy old hardware.
Perfect for getting the most out of your hardware. Wish I had some of that hardware.
Man, a lot of good thoughts in this thread and in the article itself.
I do feel like Microsoft needed this to continue to expand it's business, partially as an extension to Windows. The important thing is that they now have another Microsoft product attached to your TV that talks to your PC, like the Zune and their upcoming Windows Phone 7, it's about making the Microsoft experience much broader and more connected. Sure, we don't see a lot of exchange between the 360 and the Wind...
