What other ways do you think new super Mario bros u can better utilize the gamepad? Im curious to see what other ideas people have I personally think for a 2d classic style platformer such as Mario, the minimal usage of the touchpad during gameplay is ideal for me but to each his own. Keep in mind the off TV play feature is a great way for any game to take advantage of the gamepad.

@dirthurts no those sales don't speak for all gamers especially considering they trump the ps3 and 360s first month sales did that mean that gamers weren't interested in traditional gamepads in 05-06? Hardly. You may not be interested in the wii u gamepad but the sales indicate that there are plenty that feel otherwise and that's all I was indicating. Not taking sides just defending the truth here. You should look up the sales figures for the initial month for wii, 360, ps3, 360 a...

I'm not being selfish. If I didn't know any better by reading your original comment you sounded pretty selfish and also generalized all gamers. You also did it again "one console doing it is more than enough" once again, and for the last time, please speak for yourself that is merely your opinion, not fact and Not everyone agrees with that. Some believe Sony or Microsoft could possibly do a better job at asymmetric gameplay, some don't even care to see it.

Please, speak for yourself. "Gamers don't want that" no, YOU don't want that and I'm sure many others don't want it either but not all gamers feel that way. Some people are open minded about asymmetric gameplay and the possibilities it can create some love it already, some wont give it a chance but the bottom line is its all about your preference. Just cause you feel a certain way about something doesn't mean everyone else feels the same exact way (it could very ...

If you think Pikmin is simple, pick up and play (aka "casual") you clearly haven't played it or know little about it. Its a thinking-strategic game that takes time to master. This whole core vs casual thing is just silly to me. Play the games YOU like, those games don't have to match someone else's made up standards. Smh @ "gamers" these days.

That's the problem right there "pikmin 3 vs the last of us" those 2 games are completely different and shouldn't be compared. As far as "hardcore gamers" are concerned, Pikmin is known to be a strategic game that can get quite difficult but I guess since its tone isn't as serious, doesn't have guns, blood, sex, and isn't rated M its not hardcore right?

This ignorance and close-mindedness is why videogames are lacking in diversity compar...

You could charge it while watching, its actually not difficult.

I feel the same way. I +bubbled your comment it was very well said! I just wish more gamers were level-headed and just took gaming for what it is, entertainment. Its not about specs its about how fun it is. Im pretty old school in my thinking towards gaming as well.

If the rating is what attracts you to a game that's pretty shallow but to each his own. To me its about the content of the game and how enjoyable it is, ratings hold little weight and matter not now that I'm an adult and can buy any game I choose.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear. I'm glad Nintendo is showing some accountability. The update and load times are my only personal gripes system-wise (not games-wise) at the moment....well the backwards compatibility with wii could be smoother and less of a hassle and not being able to use the pro controller for vc games is a bummer, but hey they're minor gripes lol

Its not really fair to compare the gaming industry to the movie industry. Yes they both are entertainment mediums but movies are far more universally watched and discussed in society than videogames are played and discussed and that isn't ever likely to change. Your talking about apples and oranges there.

Your not alone. I miss those games too, its a shame that most of those kinda games get overlooked in favor of shooters and "mature" games. To me the main reason I play games is to be entertained/have fun and if the game is fun I'm playing it no matter the genre.

Crash and spyro used to be my favorite games back on the ps1 and Jak and sly were two of my favorites from PS2 its great that sly is coming back and it would be dope to see a new Jak and proper crash and...

Agree whole-heartedly. One of the Wii U's main selling points to me personally was miiverse, and at first I wasn't sure about it but after doing some research, I found out its basically one big gamer family that is all about the games and sharing thoughts, opinions, and drawings and best of all, its free and positive!

I was almost to the point of giving up on gaming sites and not conversing about videogames via the net because there are so many immature and negative p...

@LOGICWINS Play your games and chill out dude. Every time I see you commenting your complaining or moaning.

Back on topic: it would Be absurd and foolish to release a system within 36 months of its predecessor. Its bad business. Look no further than Sega and what happened with dreamcast. One of the basic practices of business is to emulate success, not failures.

"Just like the Wii pumped out those AMAZING exclusives right?"

Yes, yes...

You know that's not Nintendo's MO. They're all about having fun and enjoying playing your games in a different way, not being a total geek and playing specs.

That would apply to me as well. I bought the system day one but its still wrapped up until Christmas morning. I'm sure others are likely in the same boat.

4146d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Exactly, it will get there in time but its gonna have to take devs actually putting forth effort and not phoning it in.

Sometimes I think gaming "journalism" can't get any worse, but there are always surprises lol. The lack of professionalism is astounding but I guess you don't need that in gaming journalism. Idk I know I'm done with these kinda sites tho, they're getting ridiculous. Ill stick to miiverse where its positive, fun, creative and most importantly, is all about the games and not politics and other nonsense.

Keep in mind many long-time Madden fans were disappointed with the changes to the franchise mode (such as myself) and the overall direction of the series. Add that to the fact Madden 13 was already half baked on 360/PS3 and was simply a lazy port of Madden 12 for Wii U (lacking physics engine) then you have a recipe for failure, good job EA!

Can I ask you a question? Why exactly do you play videogames?

Back on topic: Not everybody has a ton of time on their hands to play a bunch of games so maybe two very fun titles are enough for them. Not everyone cares what everyone else thinks of the system either, some love it and are enjoying it whether its 2 games or 5 or more. If they enjoy it, what else should matter? There doesn't need to be a consensus approval of the wii u's launch, the consumers just have to...
