Uhhh, 9 hours of gameplay is at least as long as Gears of War and Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and a lot of games that had a campaign and a multiplayer. This game has a campaign & a multiplayer. I also don't even think this is referring to 9 hours of gameplay, it's referring to 9 hours of cutscenes. That's my guess.
Lotta cutscenes.
@ guy who said MGS3 only has about 3 hours of cutscenes:
OK. It also has the shortest runtime of cutscenes in the series. Especially if you include codec conversations, of which very little exist in MGS3 and tons and tons in MGS2.
My guess is that the game is about 20-25 hours long including these 9 hours of cutscenes. That's my guess. I think that when this says runtime that means the total amount of time occupied by all of the cutscenes in the game. It can't be a combination of cutscenes and play time, because that would make this significantly shorter than the other games in the series, and I just don't see that being the case. It's touted as being the most cutscene heavy in the series if you include all the fla...
This game looks seriously awesome.
@ Siellick... Final Fantasy, sure, but Metal Gear started on MSX computers. NES was just an afterthought port commissioned by Konami for the sake of making money. As far as Kojima's concerned, that version of the game doesn't even exist, and it certainly isn't the original.
I quote you: "About the controllers, I dont care what your opinion is on the matter, the idea that the PS3 controller is more comfortable is pure fiction. Its not. It causes strain and unnecessary movement -- this isnt the opinion of gamers, its elementary ergonomics. I dont need to argue with you."
Wow. To make any kind of claim like "elementary ergonomics" as a reason for the 360 controller being superior is just insane. It's a matter of preference, end ...
Heh. Yeah, that's a good observation. I do still think it looks cool though. I guess that's indicative of my unnatural love for Robocop.
I quote you:
"IN FACT, the Xbox 360 makes the *LEAST* noise of the group;
1. Xbox 360 – on average least noisy, generally level noise output
2. PS3 – Not noisy at first, but fairly noisy once on for a short while "
That is absolutely laughable! You clearly have no experience with the PS3 and the 360 in the same room. I've got both, and my PS3 is super-quiet, all the time. If I have no electronics on in my room at all except for ...
I can't believe I'm even going to waste my time reading this website's trash. But for some reason, that's exactly what I'm about to do.
Yep: Just as I suspected, more ridiculous tripe from these guys. Just like with their 360 version of the same article, this makes a couple of good points and yet still descends into illogical stupidity. PS3 is quiet: yeah, that's true, and a good reason to play a game on the PS3 over the 360 in my opinion. Grand Theft Auto belongs on Plays...
Why is this news? We had the exact same report from a different source earlier today. This is redundant.
Cool. I want one.
Oh, I'm not sure. I was just at the Kojima website about a week ago and didn't see these up there. I did a search for articles about it here and wasn't able to find anything. It's definitely an awesome looking figure. I know we've seen the Raiden one before, but I don't recall seeing this one. If anybody knows it's been posted here before, I appologize for the dupe.
@ Mr. Marbles: I quote you, "it is fact that the 360 controller has a longer cord and offers you the option of rechargable batts or regular batts."
Shows what you know. That's NOT a fact. Why would I want the option to pay for AA batteries every few hours of gameplay when I can just recharge my controller from the USB port? The 360 controller is wireless and does not come with the rechargeable battery. So it's 50 bucks plus 20 bucks for the battery & charge c...
Marichuu, that's precisely why this article was crap. Half his argument is just trying to make the PS3 out to be the worse system than the 360 and has absolutely nothing to do with the game itself. Not to mention that the issue with the controller recharge cord if about as lame an argument as you can make. He complains that the length is too short? Well, why not complain that the 360 controller doesn't come with a recharge cable at all? How about the fact that if the cable that came with...
@ above, who said: "So ps3 = 80$ for new hard drive + 50$ HD cables + 400$ console = 530$ vs 350$"
I say: What!? First of all, you don't need a new hard drive. I have the 80 GB PS3, and I have 4 games that required a 5 GB install on there, I have a bunch of HD videos and some music on their, as well as a few PSN games and some demos. And my HDD is not even quite half filled. I still have enough room for another couple of 5GB installs, as well. And if I fill it up...
Seriously... what do you mean average? Those games have incredibly precise & response controls, detailed and immersive level design, phenomenal art, technology, graphics, and animation, a lot of charm & wit and interesting stories. What is "average" about them? If you think they're average games, I'd love to know what some other average games are, in your estimation. Could you name a few, please?
Ratchet & Uncharted average games? It's pricks like those GameSpot reviewers that criticize truly talented and hard working creative people while they themselves create nothing of value. I find their reviews of each of those two games to be absolutely demeaning to the hard work and effort put into those games by so many people. Average games? My foot! Those games are exemplary in their field, with amazing technology and art, fun game design, and great writing. To undermine the effor...
Why the hell do I waste my time here. I get 0 agrees and 1 disagree for presenting sound and reasonable logic along side verifiable facts. Great work. If you "disagree" why don't you at least come out of the woodworks and explain what it is about my comment that you don't think is accurate.
EDIT: OK. Got an agree on it. That makes sense to me. People, if you're going to hit "disagree" and it's actually a rational, well thought out comment, citing fac...
Actually, the 360 is outsold by the PS3 consistently. There is only one region in the entire world where the 360 outsells the PS3, and that's North America. And they only BARELY outsell it here. The PS3 outsold the 360 in January & February in North America, then the 360 outsold the PS3 in March. So if anything you could call it a tug of war match here in America.
And after 2 straight months of 360 being outsold by PS3, when it came back to outsell the PS3 last month,...
I just thought of something, as well... if the BBFC works anything like the ESRB, they don't even play the games. They never touch a controller. The publisher merely cuts a video together of all the footage that could potentially effect the game's rating, and they send the video to the rating board, who reviews it and then chooses a classification.
So if it works the same was as that for the BBFC, then all this means is that the video that Konami sent them was 9 hours 5 minut...
