I think the OS space they were reserving for features such as Cross voice chat, party system, etc are no longer needed. I think Sony gave up on the idea that they will try doing those things this generation.
So, though Sony leg humpers are celebrating the extra ram that will be used to add 1% better texture to an ingame rock... what they do not know is that it will cost them many features that sony is now giving up on...
