We can only hope. "Gamergate" quickly became a dirty word. "Ethics" never should.
Good idea! I have a feeling that they'll do some kind of deal containing the other games too, so hopefully it'll soon be quite cheap for those who are looking to finish the trilogy on their shelf.
It almost scares me how quickly multimillion dollar corporations started getting treated like people. Reviewers tread on eggshells not to OFFEND EA, and a stream of thinkpieces of worthless editorials constantly talk about Blizzard of Bethesda like they're close friends.
It's time to stop.
For those claiming that the article isn't satire (despite the comment I posted saying so) and that it's "obvious" flamebait (despite there being no flaming, or any call to it) would you mind explaining your grievances here? I'm happy to hear them and to attempt a dialogue with you, and think we can all reach more constructive ends this way.
If it pleases you, I can even explain the jokes that offend you the most in the article, and explain how they a...
The difference is that i they have a metacritic account, they can give whatever user score they feel like giving, for whatever reason. They get their "vote" for being a member of the site. I don't recall every member of the site getting the ability to freely hound and harrass people for being honest about a game, though. Not to mention the fact that giving bad score and threats aren't on the same level of "offence", are they?
If the reasoning is ...
The word "Toxic" is as pointless now as "racist", it's so overused. Hell, you can be accused of being "toxic" because you called it "dumb shit". I mean, don't you know how aggressive that language is?
People need to learn to take ALL of this a lot less seriously. ALL of it.
Perhaps the real question is "do many children own a switch?" Or "do as many children own a switch as adults?". I don't remember it being marketed toward them. I remember it being marketed towards 18-25 year olds at rooftop parties with tiny cups of beer. Surely it's a bit too expensive and fragile for younger children?
Thanks. People get so ridiculously zealous over defending the corporation that they believe is their friend. Console wars create useful idiots, I guess.
Not many people complained when there were threats thrown about at anyone who gave BotW less than a 9/10. I guess it's only toxicity when it's anti-Nintendo?
satire, obvs
I'd be perfectly happy if 90% of games were MetroidVania

No, that was crap. Anyway, I can agree with 1, 2 and 7, but i'm a little confused on the rest. The dialogue was leaps and bounds better than any of the other FPSout games, and anything else Bethesda has done. Romance is kind of an add-on, really, so I wasn't expecting that to be much. Quests...are..the same?
if anything, i'm annoyed at the ...
It was VERY weird to me in New Vegas, because it seemed like half the population was gay. Made me wonder how they managed to get around to that all-important procreation business.
I guess it might just be that I noticed it more in NV because it was ham-fisted as hell. Seems a lot more subtle in F4, or at least not dealt with as though it were written by giggly kids.
I don't quite understand the anger over the slight amount of backstory the SS has, or ov...
ask yer mum, lad.
I find this kind of weird. It's 1950's Americana before the war, isn't it? You wouldn't find homosexual marriages there. It doesn't fit the stereotype of 1950's America.
I think you might be right. They fall into a strange category all their own, it seems. Honestly, they're buggy and weird, and don't hold to a lot of current RPG conventions, which is why I think people like them.
Seeing a lot of these quirks described as faults is strange to me, though. As though what an RPG "should be" is declared by the most popular.
The Risen series has gotten a lot of undeserved hate over the years, and I can only put it down to being "too British" for anyone but the UK to like, which is weird considering it was devved in Germany.
Arkham origins Batman is a jerk. A BATJERK
"f the press didn't get all that stuff, or the readers started ignoring the click-bait, then they'd be required to be journalist to get their info, then they'd probably be much more critical of the industry and the games themselves."
Maybe. Recent evidence suggests that they don't, though. They just get hostile at the gamers themselves, and politicise the issue unduly. Then they report on that instead.
