If their online presence has cratered, I doubt they are doing well on other fronts. Magazines are a dying medium, especially among young people, who video game magazines target. I would wager that their subscription numbers are a fraction of what they once were. Gaming journalism is an oversaturated market to begin with. I really, really hate this emerging genre of casual "MMO lite" shooters that end up being repetitive crap, with no end game. The popularity of this game and destiny show a problem in industry standards.

The timing for the release is bad enough. No one in the market is anywhere near having the mindset of a new generation of consoles. The ammount of publisher incompetence here is just jaw dropping.
First of all, the exclusivity deal, which doomed this game from the begining. The tomb raider remaster sold about 3 times as much on PS4 as it did on xbox one. So, it was a TOTALLY great idea to give the PS4 gamers the middle finger.

considering he is moving at least twice as fast as you do in the other games, thanks to the sprinting mechanic, I would say the map is pretty big.

This revenue is almost entire derived from PC and Mobile. It has nothing to do with the xbox one. Forza 6 and Halo 5 are selling record lows for their series and every multiplat sells at least twice as much on PS4.
