I've seen VHS tapes in Blockbuster till the year of 2002. so that is 5-6 after DVD came out that VHS disappeared from stores and from blockbuster. Blu-ray came out a little over 2 years ago.
Also a really really small amount of people knew that DVD even exists out there in it's first 3-4 years.
