Man, I think the hardware reliability thing is over now. The newer chipsets from late(?) last year seem to be quite reliable.
Of course, we can't know for sure, as most xboxes take about a year or more until they red ring... mine just died a year and a half after I got it.

Man, I don't know about you guys, but I would totally play Duck Hunt: Natal edition.

I just don't think 3d glasses are the future. Head tracking (guy several posts below) is a much more 'wantable' feature.
People love to see movies in 3D. It's something new, something different from what they're used to seeing. However, I don't see that easily becoming a part of everyday life - at least for gamers.

Smart. I'm also skeptical of all this 3D technology. It's several years too early - consumers have just started to jump on HDTVs. Not to mention the lack of demand for games in 3D.

And about Sony always leading the way... you guys can't be serious about using that as a legitimate argument.

Why, I think it could. Sure us 360 owners are probably more interested in COD and Reach, but what do you think we'll be buying early 2010? It's not like we'll be playing COD all the time... I hope.

I have a slew of games to buy this year. Holy Sh*t.

Hm, last I heard, GvD said that they didn't need a beta on 360 because it ran worked well through LIVE. All the multiplayer demos they held were on 360.
But even on Bad Company 1, they had issues on the PS3 such as the microphone issues... that one bugged the hell out of PS3 players.

This is the reason why I support the Unreal Engine. It's games may not look goundbreaking, but they look stellar enough, and there's almost always split-screen support. Arkham Asylum's lack of split screen was obviously a design choice, but if you look at previous splinter cells, Army of Two, Gears of War...

Why does everyone think this MMO is Halo related? Bungie's probably going to move away from Halo after Reach...

News is probably false. OXM makes headlines sound better than they actually are - they're probably just explaning the VGA reveal trailer. EDGE or Game Informer are more likley to have actual info.

Same here. A highly rated game will always have it's lovers and haters.

Halo? That is a very love/hate kind of game. I've been bashing that game for a several months before, but recently I just got back into the game and saw what people love about it. Co-op, split screen, huge environments, intense vehicle fights, how absolutely crazy sh*t can happen in the first few minutes of a multiplayer match...

Can I ask what platform everyone's planning to play Mass Effect 2 on?

For me, it's the 360... after it comes back from Microsoft. It's been a good 2 years...

@kneon

You don't have friends online? Then you are in the uber-minority, as everybody else does.
I absolutely love the simplicity of joining and inviting friends on xbox live. The mini-dashboard seems really well designed to allow easy access to your friends.
PSN, on the other hand, you can't do to easily. It doesn't necessarily take a whole lot more button presses, but it's just not as easy.

I still think Halo 3 is gorgeous. ODST, not so much, as urban environments are rarely pleasing to the eye. I do like it's darker lighting though.

The first level is easily the prettiest looking mission in a shooter I've played for a long time. Since the mission is a lot less open than the others, a lot more environmental details were crammed into it's lush jungle environments.

Now, people have to think whether they want more missions like Sierra 117, or wider open, ...

I still play from time to time on my xbox. The lag is unbearable sometimes, and very few people play air superiority, my favorite mode ever!

They sold 2 million? Hmm, then what was all the fuss about Crysis not earning enough money? What was the development budget? Why's Crytek trying to have Crysis on consoles when they were supposedly sucessful on the PC?

I enjoyed Warhead - a lot more than Crysis 1. I felt that the action was tighter, and I loved those small SMGs dual wielded!

They want to give players a more focused experience. So that means more linear and scripted.
I guess that's not too bad...
PC gamers will probably rage that Crytek's moving away from what made the original so great and what not, but since Crysis and Warhead didn't receive the amounts of praise they deserved, they're probably not afraid to test new waters.

True, don't mess with shooters. On the other hand, Mirrors Edge...

I'm a 360 only owner, but I've had a strange fascination with Killzone 2. I did play the demo 2 times and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought, but I still want to play that game like mad. Something about it just... Killzone 3 will define whether or not I'll get a PS3.

As for Uncharted 2... I honestly think the shooting part could be somewhat worked on. But it's graphics (especially that Nepal level) blew me away.

I actually prefer Treyarch over IW, mostly because of their heavier emphasis on co-op. Campaign co-op? YES PLEASE!
