It's sad, but I don't need to read this article to know it's stupid.
The simple fact it's AAA, means that people are more likely to play it and that in turn makes it more likely for someone to dislike it. You'll probably never read a hate article about Orgarhythm or anything, because the only people buying it are the ones that are sure they would enjoy it. The other reason is that people don't waste the time to call out a small game like Neptunia, for... #2

Also I think it's a good theory that these are simply replacements for All 4 One, inFAMOUS 2 and LBP 2. Obviously it's just 1 replacement, but still a far more likely answer than purely random error. #1
Most people freely give their PSN / XBL account names out, so you can always verify something if it sounds wrong. Like if I said BioShock was a terrible game and had 1 trophy in it, I probably have no right to talk.
Additionally, it wasn't about the overall score, it was about the single game in question. Like if someone told you Vanquish was an easy game, but beat the game on normal or lowe... #5.1.2
It's either because they're fishing for reviews or the person didn't quite grasp the game. Admittedly, Soul Sacrifice is a fairly average and boring game if you can't figure out how to play it and don't play very far into it. Obviously if this is indeed the case, this reviewer should be tarried and feathered.. #6.2
If someone has proof they beat the game, at least I know they're most likely not talking out their *** like some people love to. Usually the more achievements / trophies in a game a person has, the more knowledgable about it they're (unless it's MP related). I think this is the only "truly" good thing about them, though I still enjoy earning them. #5.1
"People want something different and the fact remains, no matter what Wolfenstein may change or add, it's still a shooter at its very core and many would skip it for that reason alone if they have genre fatigue."
Isn't that a rationally invalid statement? If you want Wolfenstein, then regardless of how you feel about the genre, you'll probably end up buying it. I don't think anyone is expecting the "original" FPS to become a RTS, Turn based... #3.2.3
You're basically saying to punish fans of Wolfenstein, simply because there are too many other games similar in nature. Should we also decline Doom 4 and Timesplitters 4 for the same reason?
From what we know, Wolfenstein The New Order takes the series in a new direction and that's it. It makes no sense to call out the game that is credited for making the genre, simply because it remains a FPS, when we should (if you're really sick of th... #3.2.1
Anarchy Reigns is something of a sequel to MadWorld. While they're not similar in gameplay, AR has things that imply it takes place after MadWorld or in another time line with similar events / people. #1.1.2
I don't know, the second you assume multiplayer makes sense, you limit creativity. A lot of people would have said Uncharted didn't need multiplayer (it doesn't), others claimed it made no sense, yet it was a pretty fun mode for what it is. I still know people that play 3, which my friend happened to love. Sure they're not all well done, but I rather see them try new things, than just slap a "we don't want to mess with success" sticker on them.
I've had people debate me on this subject and they constantly claim that the system needs to be X% better than the last generation. In either case it also bothers me. Not because I care what generation they think the Wii U belongs, I mean feel free to claim the PS2 has more power...It just makes no sense to assume that power defines which generation it falls in. Like saying the 3DS is last generation and the Vita is this generation, since the Vita is just THAT much more powerful. #2.5
You're assuming way too much and need to look at things beyond "IGN is Evil".
So many people forget that reviews are subjective and everyone values everything differently. The fact that you, me and perhaps most of N4G might not be a fan of CoD, it certainly doesn't offset the sales / popularity that suggest an 8+ isn't impossible to fathom.
The funny thing is what happened during Declassified. Most reviewers seemed to agree the game wa... #3.1
A) It's not a trend. Even the author seems to realize this, since several examples of similar games (several in the past) were mentioned. "Assassin games" are merely an outshoot of the stealth genre and hardly that popular. B) Assassins Creed's popularity comes more from story than gameplay. I've known plenty of people that actually disliked some of the later titles, but still played them simply to see what happens next. While I am not the biggest AC fan out ther... #1
While copyright is probably an element, I think it's simply there so no company can really complain about it. If you don't want someone to upload something, they can simply block it via this method. It won't stop people with HDPVR's, but that's still a smaller group than those who own said system. #3.5
Part of what made Blood Dragon so great was the fact that it didn't overstay its welcome. If they tried to make it something with a 10+ hour story, absurdly large map and tons of side missions, I believe the novelty would wear off. #3.1
I don't see how pre-orders screw anyone, since you're the one that assigns value to the items. Take Soul Sacrifice, some people might care about the Japanese language pack, some people might like the costume pack and others might use the items, but in the grand scheme they're pretty worthless (though I like the JP language). Typically preorder items are weak (to prevent imbalance) and don't always have value for said person. Finally, do people forget these items typically get... #5
It has some good data and is fairly well done when compared to most other articles, but I wouldn't say it's completely accurate either.
Like there is absolutely nothing core about Animal Crossing, plus at least 3 (closer to 6) of the Wii offerings (that's a whole 10% or 20% if you count the full 6) were simply ports of previous titles. You can bump this up to 4+ if you don't count Animal Crossing, 5+ if you don't count Jungle Blast, though I would personal... #1.1
But they make add ons and that was a core concept of that one Sony phone (too lazy to look up the name). I also believe Samsung did a controller too, so I wouldn't say this is true.
