I don't know what it is, but any and every game I play today just seems to share the ability of pissing me off without major effort, especially Battlefield 3 and Test Drive Unlimited 2. I started off with Test Drive, working on earning my A3/A2 license to open new championships. Well, for starters, they made the driving school this round damn near impossible thanks to giving me a trashy Mercedes to drive for the first three lessons and the crappiest of all cars, a Dodge Viper. Both vehicles in the game have handling worse than vehicles in Grand Theft Auto IV.
N4G, you're lucky I can't swear - right now, my vocabulary is growing increasingly colourful. Anyhow, I spent a good half an hour trying and retrying the same goddamn lesson over and over again, to no avail. The Mercedes kept spinning out, or I didn't get to the end in time, or I scraped a barrel, god freakin' forbid. Then I skipped two lessons and moved onto one I thought would be relatively simple - overtaking cars. So as I attempt it, the first three seconds from the starting line, the Dodge Viper spun out. I have never imitated an Internet meme so well in my life. Needless to say, I'm done with the game, and if i didn't waste $60 on it, I'd either sell it or set it on fire.
So already in a foul mood, I set Test Drive Fail 2 aside and attempted Battlefield 3. Let me just first say that thanks to my aggravation, I noticed a few things in the game that my blissfully ignorant counterpart would never have realized. First off, why in the name of Jesus H. Christ on a chicken flatbread sandwich is it impossible for me to kill someone with a single headshot, yet a sniper rifle shot to the toe will drop me faster than a sullen whore's undergarments? Secondly, why is it that when I'm being shot at and I make my way around a corner with 88% health, the person a yard behind me somehow manage to obtain magic bullets that can shoot through a steel crate? In less nonsensical aspects, it's like they tried to make Battlefield 3 so realistic, it fails and annoys. Quite pathetic and quite annoying indeed.
