Introduced me to the Indie Ecosystem
The PlayStation Vita has a handful of AAA games, but as you probably know, the system is overflowing with indie titles. Before I owned my Vita, I had never been too heavy on indie games. But thanks to the massive amount of 'free' titles I received via PlayStation Plus, that changed quickly. I would soon be in the mists of spectacular games like Guacamelee! and Velocity Ultra. I came to a fast realization that these were some of the best experiences in the gaming industry. Not only had my tastes suddenly changed, but also my appreciation for the brilliant developers behind these unique titles. I never had such a rush like I did while achieving the Sound Shapes platinum trophy, or trying to get a perfect score in every Hotline Miami mission. (and failing miserably)
Indies Led to Classics
Many indie games and classic games look and feel very similar. Titles like Shovel Knight and Rouge Legacy bring back that NES nostalgia you love so much. Being only 22, I wasn't introduced to classic games like Duck Tales and Castlevania until years after they released. Of course I played them when I was younger, but I didn't have the knowledge and understanding of games as an adult does. After falling in love with the indie landscape, my interest in the classic gaming scene had been peaked. Playing catch up began! I currently find myself playing/replaying classic titles like Mega Man 2, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, and the original Metroid, needless to say I'm having a blast! What had began as an indie game addiction has lead to something much more grand, and everlasting, and it all began with my PlayStation Vita in hand.
"Persona!"
I couldn't finish this article without mentioning one of my favorite games of all time. After I read Greg Miller's review, I took a leap of faith when purchasing Persona 4: Golden. I wasn't too JRPG savvy, but after jumping into P4G, I was instantly in love. From its charming characters, to its phenomenal take on turned based strategy, I was lost in countless hours of Persona dueling madness. The game is truly one of a kind, if you own a Vita and have not played Persona 4 yet, do yourself a favor and do so!

The vita is great for playing classics I agree. I'm currently playing metal gear solid and final fantasy 7 on my vita with many more to go. It looks so much better on the vita, than on my 60" TV lol due to its higher resolution. I only wish you could somehow install umd games to vita.
Being able to play the majority of my PS4 catalogue over 100 miles away from the console itself.... is also a huge bonus.
I love Indies, Hotline Miami, Lustrafters, Limbo, Walking Dead, Spelunky, etc, etc, too many indies to name, Lone Survivor, lol.
If i may throw a suggestion, buy a Playstation TV and make the wife play Danganronpa. I have seen women review that game on youtube and gush about it.
It has the most funniest writing I have ever seen in a game, it is kinda like Persona because you can level social links. It's Saw and Ace attorney had a baby and they named it Toko.
