Without a helmet you'd get some bug splatter here in OZ! View

Some good tips in there before the review of the new cars. I'd probably never fiddle that much with my tyre pressure etc., but I'm sure the real enthusiasts will find those ideas for racing useful. View

Nothing worse than getting to a part of the game (often the end) and have to repeat over and over and over. View

The Halo Library example or any of the others that use 'un'fun methods to pad out their games really annoy me. A game should not be 4 hours, but a game should not pad itself out just to say it is longer. View

Too right. I like diversity to explore too. View

I'm so glad that the gloss hasn't worn off after the initial reviews' dust has settled, unlike with the first.

GOTY? Well only Uncharted 2 imo is the competition. View

Yeah I'm not sure about it either but the concept seems cool. But if it is all my boss is bigger than your boss it will just get ridiculous. View

It is strange because Aussies generally have such an open non-wowser living style. View

LOL...horrible when parents knows about games, hey?

The issue is inconsistency: some MA15 games should be R18 (and are overseas as you say) but some of the banned or changed games (Risen? Dark Sector?) are not even as violent or 'mature' as some that get passed.

An R18 rating definitely would get more parents' attention and make it illegal for minors to buy. Sure some will get them still, but they can still get banned ones too from overseas.

It shouldn't be a board of non-gamers deciding what is worse than what: it's the adult gamers who usually know more about them. Besides most of the democratic world does it this way. View

I hear that there is a Pirates of the Caribbean prequel open-world game being made already....I don't really think it is the right fit for AC.

I also don't like the Feudal Japan choice some people seem to think is a good fit. Templars in samurai-land. We've enough ninja and samurai games already. View

Warning Spoilers....

Sounds a bit like that book The Charlemagne Pursuit where there were these advanced other beings who 'helped' humanity with tech etc. through the ages and then died off. Here the difference is that they 'created' humans and enslaved them...

I still want locations that are historic and have that authentic feel. I don't mind if it goes back in time before the Renaissance. Desmond's bit can be modern. View

It does sound like a good movie tie in game, but I'm still not sure if I feel sci fi much anymore....kind of overdosed on it. View

Well you are in good company. The article had a link to another article about the subject and in it is this quote:

"A lot of highly-intelligent people are prone to depressions, and gamers seem particularly so" View

@ sikbeta

I can see why you wouldn't want to talk about something negative like that, but the whole point is that people are suffering and they need to talk to other people about it.

You may be in a good place, but not everyone is and though it might seem a 'downer' it is kindness to listen to someone who may be in a hard place.

I'm not into that scene, but I can understand how real life can suck enough to want to pretend your way into a fantasy life.

It generally doesn't help though.

In China they have militaristic rehab centres where they send game addicts: you see the 1 child policy means that they often don't have connections with siblings. The few I saw interviewed didn't want to leave even though the place was harsh because they had made real friends.

That's not to say that playing games makes you depressed, it's just that some use it to escape much more than others. And online "trash talk" isn't exactly connection... View

That's interesting. You are forcing yourself to play a game? Must not be AC 2 or Uncharted 2 then! lol. View
