Over dramatic much?
I tried to read the entire article, I really did....but, this guy really needs to get a grip. First, he's crying because the console didn't live up to his ridiculous expectations ( a "true" virtual reality experience, perfect controls, etc.) Then he starts taking shots at Nintendo for "milking" the franchises?
Excuse me, but I would say the majority of the first party games are going in a much better direction then they were when they were in the Gamecube days. Galaxy vs Sunshine anyone? W Waker vs Twilight? etc.
Now, they're not only reviving old franchises such as Punchout, Sin and Punishment, the console is also creating new IP's such as NMH, Red Steel and the Conduit etc.
When peopple ever realize that Nintendo was never the problem, third party developers were. That's why the systems library of games was weaker then what it should have been early on. It's why the games looked liked crapped and were mostly poor quality or short. That's why they didn't sell. But, it's all Big N's fault, great logic guys. View

Now, Now kids play nice
I understand that there is this huge flame bait war going on between all of the 360, PS3 and Wii fans, but come on get real. When did everyone forget that gaming was about fun and escaping reality through fantastical worlds often times with the help of mild narcotics?
If anyone should be getting sh!t on it should be the lazy developers who push out crap game after game, whether it be on the 360, Wii, or PS3 etc. And yes, I know the Wii has been the victim of by far the most shovel ware and exploitation games and it makes the system an easy target. (Especially when the graphics argument is one of the few things most of you have left, of course knowone better tell the PC owners that.) But, in the end it doesn't even matter, because 90% of the real world has now idea that you or your little war even exists.
So in conclusion, Flame on! View

I liked the first game a lot but,
I can't believe that know one is complaining about the slowdown during the combat in the first game. All these new additions sound great and all, but that's what I really want to see fixed. View

Just to give people the heads up
If you live in the US, Best Buy and Gamestop offer a Red Steel and No More Heroes, 2 pack for $30. I'm not sure about other countries obviously. View

Finally
I have played a fair number of the Wii's sword slashing games, and they all had the same single problem. You can't turn your wrist when you swing or the motion won't be read properly. But, in this trailer if you watch carefully between 56-58secs you an see the on screen character turning his wrist just like the player/ Assuming he's actually playing the game. Either way I'm sold, bring on some Red Steel 2. View

Did anybody else catch
that the article said that the games production only started last summer? If that's the case we are in for one rushed game. View

Sign The Petition!
Hey all. I started a little petition over at EA's Dead Space forum to voice my displeasure. I encourage all of you to do the same. The post I added with my petiton is below.

"I am creating this thread in hopes that someone at EA will get the hint that Wii owners do NOT want a 'on rails shooter' version of Dead Space. Just like we did not want a 'On Rails' version of Resident Evil, a Fighting version of Castlevania, or an adventure version of Soul Calibur.

A game like Dead Space would be very acceptable as either a FPS or a third person shooter. I speak for myself when I say that I would rather wait another two years for an actual game then to play another quick cash in. I know that I am not the only person who feels this way and others who agree with me can make your voices heard by signing this petition."

Reading through all these articles and comments makes me wonder why "Nintendo" suddenly become such a bad word.

One things for sure, there's too much bad blood between Sony fans and Wii fans. (Microsoft fans also, but to a lesser extent.) The whole Nintendo argument is based on the assumption that "Nintendo" supposedly abandoned the 'core' gamer. This however is simply not true. Nintendo always focused on the more friendly oriented games and let third parties bring in the more extreme stuff. (They did get overly strict with the Gamecube's content early in it's life span, but lazed up a bit towards the end.)

Flash forward to the launch of the Wii. Nintendo stated that they would allow a broader range of games including more hardcore titles for the 'core' audience. And a much bigger focus on casual gaming which would be more assessable to none-gamers.

Obviously, most publishers didn't immediately buy into the idea and took a wait and see approach. While others tried to cash in on the 'casual craze.' Now, the system has a install base which is far too big for any sane developer to ignore, and now it's getting actual games that have had full development cycles.

If anything, I would sat that it's not so much the Wii growing up, but that some of the third party developers are. View

Wow.
That might be the worst top ten list I have seen in a while. Greg's Anatomy at ten? Madworld only at the fifth spot? Sadness?

Wow, just wow. View

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one. The Wii can use some more good action/adventure games. View

You seem to be intelligent enough person and I understand where you are coming from. BUT, you clearly don't get that Nintendo is a corporate company and not a bank that gives out loans to struggling devs.

Game development is a game of extremely high risks and rewards. We are in one of the worst recessions in a long time and things look like they will only get worse.

It is not Nintendo's responsibility to save these companies. If anything, there giving lots of smaller companies a chance to succeed by being the cheapest console to develop for while have the biggest install base.

Except for a few exceptions, shovelware doesn't sell. The companies who continue to push out this crap will slowly die off like flies. Sales from upcoming games such as Hose of The Dead O.K., The Conduit, Madworld, etc. Should solidify some publishers faith in the consoles ability to be successful with the core crowd and with any luck, will see games like this one come back to life. My first response would be yes, but....
I just spent the last two hours playing one of my all time favorite role playing games, Shining Force, and I had an absolute blast.

Now, some might argue it was just nostalgia, but trust me it wasn't. Some games just don't need HD graphics. Have you ever played Hot Shots on the PS3? It looks pretty stupid with all the HD graphics and being able to see every blade of grass. It really does not suit the style of the game at all. View

This reminds me of when I was playing the first god Of War
I got to specific part in GOW where I kept dying over and over again, I think it might have been around three or four times in a row. The game started to ask me if it wanted me to lower the games setting to 'easy' which I did not.

After a few more tries of getting closer and closer to beating the boss as I figured out his patterns. I accidentally allowed the game to be set to 'easy' because I was in a rush to get back to the game and didn't notice the question when it popped up.

Well, I beat the boss on the next try and quickly realized how easy the game had gotten when I started the next stage. I looked for an option to return the game back to the 'normal' difficulty setting, but couldn't do it because I was already over halfway through the game. So, I had to start the game over again and replay it again so I could play it on its proper level. Needless to say I was pissed.

Now, does this mean I am against the new patent? No. But, it better be done in a way as it's not intrusive and only an option when I need to access it myself. If help wanted options pop up after I die in a game two or three times in a row, this would completely ruin the game for me and take me out of the experience.

Needless to say I wouldn't purchase or play those games anymore and take my money elsewhere. View

The next two or three months are going to be extremely important for Wii owners and third party developers. If games like the Madworld, Conduit, House Of The Dead Overkill etc, sell well. Then a lot of fanboys and shoddy Third party developers out there can finally shut the hell up. View

It's Time For A Reality Check For This Developer
Is that some sort of threat?
How about "make a game people want to play or its bankruptcy"

Excellent post my friend, bubbles for you.

Do you want to know why the Wii's first party games sell the best? Because they are always the best made and the the most highly promoted. Deadly Creatures looks like an interesting enough game, but your right it probably won't sell that well. Why? A.-It's been getting delayed repeatedly, which indicates there is some development problems. B.-It's an unfamiliar and slightly strange concept for a game. (not saying this SHOULD be a factor that will hold the sales back, but will.) And C.- Most importantly, it will be competing with many high profile games, all of which will be third party.

So, while this guy is getting his butt kicked in sales by other third party developers such as High Voltage Software, Platinum Studios, Head Strong Studios, Capcom etc. He needs to ask himself why his games aren't good enough and then put the blame on himself rather than making threats at us, the people who give him a job so that he can pay his bills. This is Bull.
From what I am reading I can divide the readers here into very distinct groups. Older more mature gamers who understand that the Wii is a new breed of gaming. And the other group, young so called "Hardcore Gamers" who are scared sh!tless that the Wii will forever change the face of gaming.

The fact is that the Wii has already hurt the PS3 and 360 far more than anyone wants to admit. Nintendo has proven that the Wii is NOT a fad and that a lot more people want to play games than the "hardcore" want to admit. Nintendo realized that game production is getting way too expensive and offered a cheaper option to produce games for big compans and smaller companys alike.

Now, while we sit here and helplessly watch our precious developers slowly drop like flies, we are starting to see more and more games switch to the Wii console because it is a more logical choice.

The list for February and March alone show that developers are beginning to take the Wii extremely seriously in this tough economic time with triple AAA titles like the, Madworld, Sonic and the Black Knight, Rune Factory Frontier, Tenchu Four, Little Kings Story, House Of The Dead Overkill, Deadly Creatures etc.

And what scares you All even more is that your favorite company's whether it be Microsoft or Sony are already copying the Wii so they can stay a float. 360 avatars ring a bell? Ever heard of Sony making a motion controlled controller? (no I'm not talking about the crappy siaxis.)

Your all scared, because your little worlds is changing and the only thing you can do about it is, cry. View
