Back when I was playing 8bit Nintendo I wanted to create video games. I never followed that dream and instead became a pilot, pretty damn good alternative because with modern aircraft avionics I get to play real video games. I was an early adopter of the PS3 because I knew it would be great. I didn't understand just how sophisticated the machine was but I know Sony style and I knew games were going to be developed that truly took us to next gen. Not just games for 15 year olds that love button smashing and chainsaw hacking, but true experiences from laughter to fear. LBP is one of the titles that has changed gaming, its unbelievable that such a cute, silly game actually has moved beyond anything else in this generation to a truly creative and rewarding gaming experience. The joy of getting random people to play your level and say how crazy, brilliant, complex, or boring it was is a great feeling.
The game was great to play through but there has been nothing like the level creator in any nex gen game yet. I've got 5 levels made from 2001: a sackboy odyssey to evil mansion and fun in between. The other levels that people have created are simply amazing and the replay value simply put is longer than any game I have ever played. Fun for all ages with true creative power and artistic expression. I love it! I really do believe that people just don't understand true gamers and that there is so much more than FPS. That being said, KZ2 will be the first game I will buy at midnight because the awareness of what is possible is about to be unleashed. I digress, LBP has clever music, sound effects, characters, multiplayer, It is the next mario bros.
The only time I have been frustrated is trying to play on-line with my brother in law. Don't understand why and it only seems to happen with him. Camera can be tricking in multiplayer but that can be worked out as you build your own levels. Go ahead try it out, its not just for little kids and play 2001 to see why.
Can't wait for KZ2, GOWIII, Uncharted 2, Resident Evil 5.
PLAY BEYOND...
