When LittleBigPlanet was first announced people in the industry such as Reggie Fils-Aime already claimed that LBP was the Playstation 3's killer app and as I look back at that statement it seems that I have been sadly disappointed.
I was not disappointed by the graphics, the graphics were pretty much accurate in displaying the materials and it's physics coupled with the sound made by each material is perfect to the point that you can hardly tell the difference between to pieces of wood hitting each other in LBP and two pieces of wood hitting each other in real life. It couldn't be the level creator it shows the physics with each material and gives adequate space for gamers to unleash their creativity, Levels made by the devs that show that almost anything is possible with the create tools. What disappointed me was the fact that some if not majority of the gaming community told me that anybody could enjoy it right away which proved false in my case.
In my opinion if you had viewed this game as a kid's game then playing it probably won't change your mind because that is the initial appeal it will show you cuteness and a vast array of color and not that those are bad things but if you've been spoiled with games like MGS4, Gears, and Resistance then it'll be hard to take this game seriously enough to change your mind. Other cause for concern is the gameplay everything seems to be perfect but the jumping can be a bit uncontrollable in terms of overjumping certain areas and the main gameplay flaw is Sackboy's movement from each of the three rows given wherein you flick the left analog stick towards the row you want to be in rather than have it as a freeflowing movement between rows.
Despite my disappointment I do see how people can get in to this game with it's astounding visuals, sound, and overall cuteness. Now all it needs are a better online system preferably one where you can filter the 5-star levels with the 1-star levels, the newest additions with the earliest made. For casual gamers and gamers who have a much more open mind this is a must buy but if you're the gamer that is still basking in the brutality of Gears of War 2, the seriousness of Metal Gear Solid 4, the intense fire fights of Resistance 2 or all of the above this game might not be your interest at least not right away
