I don't think any of those games you mentioned had a budget $21 million or 120 developers working on them. Of course all that money and developers doesn't necessarily guarantee success but it doesn't hurt.

Well Mark 1 was HALO better than previous Bungie efforts? Damn straight. You act like a company can't improve. Here is something for you too. Killzone 1 = Best weapon animations ever. You'll neve see reloading that well done in other titles either.

I hate to burst the bubble but a few things caught my attention.

#1- the preview mentioned that the shooting mechanic needs some work. Will GG change this much? Sure hope so b/c its a shooter.

#2- No mention of enemy AI, whether it was good or bad....that kind of worries me b/c in all the movies I've seen enemy AI seemed questionable. Sure the difficulty may have been set to 'easy' but I still have my doubts.

#3- the article mentions a late 2008 release....I thought it was coming out 'early 2008' meaning the 1st half of 2008. I guess GG changed the release date recently.

Anyways I think this game will get 8.5's and 9.0's. It will get some 8.0's and 9.5's but I think it will average 8.5-9.0.

Couldn't agree with you more Meus I. This game just looks more and more amazing everytime I see more info on it. If it lives up to the hype (and I am hoping it will surpass it), will make me go out and buy another PS3 so I can Multiplayer with my son. Shooters on 360 so far seem to be getting so generic (yes...bioshock was pretty good admittedly...although short...but no online) and tired of MPing COD and GOW on our 2 360's. Wasn't fan of previous Killzone attempts or Sony for that matter...but, as mentioned... I am psyched for this game.

that Feb. date was shown before E3 in July...but was never confirmed by Sony or Guerilla...not sure where it came from, but all the major retailers cite that timeframe...

However, Guerilla usually responds simply with "uh...2008"...Sony won't rush this one, we all know what happened to the first one because of it...and it really has no "big" fps competetion next year, so there really is no hurry to get it out...which sucks though...I want it yesterday...

UT3 will hold me over until whenever this is ready...and COD4 has some deferred rendering, albeit way less dramatic, also...so that will hold me over in terms of impressive lighting systems...

That was exactly what Criterion claimed when developing black. Now that was a f*cking kickarse game. It was shot down for being too short and having no multiplayer, but it still remains one of the very best fps experiences I've ever had. Forget the story, forget the objectives, forget the enemies - the simple act of firing a gun in that game felt awesome every time. If KZ2 can replicate, or, I pray, best the feel of the weapons and the level of destructible environments that Black had, it will be mindblowing.

they will find the smallest things and just bash the game... it's a given.. i know for a fact it won't get many 10s, but soon after that things will start to change, since ps3 fanbase will get pretty big..

right now they have to please to their larger fanbase being the 360 but once things change you'll be seeing better reviews on ps3 games..

i'm sure if ONE of the helghast does something not worthy of perfection they'll say the AI it's terrible, and if some texture is not as real as the other 99.99% of the game they will say that the texture lacks sharpness or whatever.. it's really unfair how they review ps3 games.. but i'm getting used to it..

an 8 for a ps3 would be a 9 if it was one the 360 and if they give it a 9 it would be definetly a 10 on the 360, that's how i see the reviews now.. and i don't care who disagrees,

The graphics are looking AMAZING, I hope this game lives up to the hype and they work out the control and aiming issues they spoke of in the article above. I love the lightning; it is by far the best looking lightning i have ever seen in a game.

Heavenly sword got good reviews and so did oblivion. Quit being retarded fan kids and acting like there is an anti ps3 conspiracy. It is the systems 1rst year and the 360 is in it's second year so of course the 360 will have more quality games. There is no bias other than the one in your head. By acting stupid and making dumb comments about everyone being xbox fanboys and rigging reviews creates a polarizing effect that makes people not want to be associated with the ps3 brand due to the idiotic fanboys.

cause i just did, and i thought it was good dude.. the AI wasn't bad like people said, they would take cover when i shot them and attack me in groups.. i mean it wasn't as good ar rfom but it was good

i generally liked the game, i give it an 8, i found it very entretaining and liked it a lot.. specially being a ps2 game..

the generally bashing killzone gets it's because it was a very hyped game and it wasn't as good as people expected it.. it seems that this time they will deliver thou.. funny thing halo3 wasn't as good as most expected yet it got 10s .. i still don't understand that one

I own it...and if it is the only fps you ever played...it is fine...and it is towards the top of the list for PS2 shooters...but...

compared to any decent PC shooter...it is complete garbage...not to start this, but the original also was destroyed by Halo in terms of polish and playability...only thing I ever liked more with the killzone series than halo 1 and 2 was the art direction and story behind of Helghast, ISA, etc...

but I don't think it will be the same with KZ2...It is illegal to compared KZ2 and halo3 for obvious reasons...so I am not touching on that...but KZ2 looks to have a way less linear mechanic at times...something that was horribly bad about the first one...
