IGN: Gran Turismo 5's Newest Addition

When Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi hits the floor of the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show to look at cars, he's accompanied by a phalanx of helpers, handlers, assistants, PR flaks and even a personal photographer to document the annual pilgrimage.

The group cuts a lumpy swath through the crowd as the notorious car nut (universally referred to as just Kazunori) makes his way from one outrageous vehicle to the next. He's here to pick the winning custom automobile for the annual SEMA Gran Turismo Awards, and he doesn't waste any time getting down to business

I want to start getting into racing games. I loved mario kart 64 when I was little but never played another one after that. Could anyone give a good starting point for racing games?

Ummm, GT5 would be a good start.

Dont bother with anything else, sim racers arent the type of games you want 20 of. Just one. The best one obviously.

And be sure to put aside plenty of time. We're talking RPG length here.

Kazunori transcends his positions as simply a games maker.

Look how well respected he is by the automotive industry.

Its like the Boss of Ubisoft being a decorated Navy Seal or the President of Naughty Dog being the chief archeologist at the British Museum.

Or the head of Rocksteady being Batman.

9 - No wonder GT5's released date was pushed
back to March 2010. It's because of SEMA, they're going to digitize the winner's car into the game. HPA Audi TT, Infinity G37 and the glossy black Mustang are all going to be in the game for us to drive. That Scion really look weird, but it's built for time attack.
