Older Ratchet Games Unlock Bonuses In New One

Soon Ratchet and his robot buddy Clank will be hitting stores in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, but long-time fans of the series have something to look forward to for their loyalty. Kotaku noticed that older Ratchet game save files unlock bonuses in the upcoming sequel. Having a save file of the previous disc-based game Tools of Destruction grants a nice bolt discount at Time's weapon-vendors. Meanwhile, if you have a save file from the download-only Quest for Booty, you get a sweet pirate hat for your game's community avatar. This is only for the community section, however, which seems to mean Ratchet can't sport the fashionable headwear in the game's actual stages.

5.1 - what did you do to your YLoD PS3?
did you send it back to Sony? I can't blame you if you were still in warranty but if not, you can actually fix it yourself! it's easy and there's no losing save data!

5.3 - Fix it???
I remember watchdog gave it a go but most of the ps3's broke again soon afterwards.

5.4 - about fixing the YLoD
yeah...they will probably crapped on you again but *the point here* you can get it back ON so you can have all your data back! I've been chatting with a friend with similar problems and his PS3 YLoD again 2 times in like 3 weeks but he's playing games out of that thing constantly for several hours everyday but he managed to fixed it again everytime. like me, it's been 2 weeks and my once YLoD PS3 is still going strong although I'm taking the safest route by always backing up my save data everytime after playing. I heard that the fix can stand up to 2-3 months and THAT for me, is already worth it! I have all the tools now and I can always do it again and again until it's not fixable again which by the time, I'll be ready for a slim! (actually I was always ready for my 2nd ;P)

I might have deleted the save file for that game since I traded it in after completing it 3 times XD

Well Im not wasting cash buying it again just for that it desnt seem to be much anway.

But I still need to get the download R&C game so I'll have the hat =D

Sweet, if there was one thing ratchet was missing it was a pirate hat. I'll be picking this up day one, TOD was my first foray in to the ratchet universe and the quality and humor won me over. Arrghh!

@Ninja monkey: The saves for TOD are not locked down to the system so if any of your mates has any saves for it yo could theoretically copy them to a pen drive and put them on your ps3.

god, I wish TOD had trophies like UC1 because, I also the deleted the save file for UC1 ( glad I platinumed it )

The costumes are, indeed, available in the SKINS section of the Bonuses.
