New Socom Confrontation Tournament Details

After almost a year of waiting SlantSix developers finally were able to provide its consumers with what they promised on the Socom Confrontation Box art. The long awaited 1.5 patch released August 25, implemented a few new features including tournaments and calenders. Many players were not aware how exactly the huge tournament feature worked. Well here to inform us is none other then SCEA senior producer Mark Rogers.

Fantastic, addictive title. The most recent 1.50 has this game screaming along. We've been having a blast with some of the best online team play and brutal gaming ever.

1.1 - i haven't gone to far into 1.5
but it seemed to be what I paid for last year. I saw they de-bfg'd the famas as well.

All i really wanted was the ability to "join a friend" and they finally added that.

I was on Saturday night into Sunday morning and those were some crazy bloody knock down drag out fights. We either won or lost by a handful of kills. I don't recall things ever being that vicious on Fallen. Just downright ugly...we loved every second of it.

I think Sony should implement some kind of tournament/league set up for the PSN that developers can make use of if they choose. Even if just a browser based one with a link from the XMB, it would help build a more community minded PSN and encourage people to get more involved. Maybe to start with just some webpages where clans can register to get involved with various tournaments or leagues with the results being posted on the page.

As it progressed it could maybe be fully integrated into the XMB, with notices and current champions of games ect being shown on the ticker bar at regular intervals.
Possibly also leading to medals or trophies being awarded to champions that could be displayed on peoples PSNid.

And obviously HOME would be a great place to integrate it as well.

Just a thought!
